Better options

A very strong chemical smell came rushing when we opened the door. We inspected and while it appeared to be in ok condition for price, I always check out the bathroom and beds. When I pulled back the fitted sheet the mattress there was what appeared to be blood on edge of mattress so I continued to look and in the upper corner by the nightstand there was a large area which appeared to be vomit dried on mattress. When we pulled the sheets back, there were two long dark hair strands in the bed. My husband went down to the desk to tell them and asked for a new room and he did not apologize and just gave him a key for new room. This was a quick stop over on our travels and we were there less than 12 hrs. Never again.

Housekeeping missed a night

The hotel itself was clean. However, we had a three night stay after our second night housekeeping did not come in and take care of our room. The front desk did provide additional towels and asked about our toilet paper and tissues. That was very nice of them.

The room was very humid and smelled damp. The AC worked fine but it just didn’t get rid of the damp smell. Breakfast was ok. The pool was freezing but clean. Front desk worker was helpful and kind. Bed was very comfortable and we slept well.

The room was not cleaned thoroughly and had a stale odor. The trash can still contained items from a previous guest, and the shower had leftover hair. Breakfast options were below standard, the coffee was watered down, and the bed pillows were uncomfortable.

For starters we booked a nonsmoking room and received a smoking room, so we walk in and are met with a very dingy smell. The room did not feel clean, there were multiple spots on the walls, and we felt the need to check for bugs thoroughly. After traveling we of course wanted to shower and there is low water pressure, and the hotel soap smells exactly like play-do. We try to stream a show and the hotel wifi can't keep up with that. The AC doesn't actually cool the room, and the constant fan changes nothing, it turned off and on constantly. The next morning we wake up to the power going out, which took a few hours to come back on. We reached out about the smoking room and they were fully booked so nothing could be done. Later though there was a cancelation so they called and offered to let us switch if we could do it in the next 20 minutes, which was nice, but we were there on vacation and weren't at the hotel at the time. Finally Expedia lists the check out time as 12, but it is actually 11. Just a small mess up but it would've cost us a bit of money if we hadn't noticed. I couldn't believe that this was actually a best western, and if I could've refunded and found a new place I would've the minute I stepped in the room.
