Not what I anticipated...

Very nice staff but a bit disappointing that the place looks nothing like the pictures showing on the site. Sure the house is there but the rooms are placed in what can only be described as something that looks like 1970`s school buildings in Russia. Surroundings were nice and the staff super friendly...

A Countryside Inn with Charm

This hotel is far from any major city and the reviews in Swedish were damning so we were pleasantly surprised at the friendliness of the staff and other guests at Akerby Herrgard. We had a beautiful view and enjoyed the short walk to the nearby lake. Nora is a quaint little town nearby with a couple of good restaurants. Breakfast is nothing special but overall the hotel was a great value with loads of charm and character.

Litet men rent rum, smal sÀng och ganska fattig kall frukostbuffé. SvÄrt att fÄ tag pÄ personal vid in- och utcheckning trots att det var under gÀllande öppettider i receptionen. Serverade dock vÀldigt god lunch men den var specialbestÀlld. Vi hade bokat ett konferensrum för nÀstan hela dagen. Fick besked vid lunch att detta skulle utrymmas pga att andra skulle in dÀr, sÄ vi fick ta bort alla grejer och gÄ till en annan byggnad inför em-passet.

Trevlig personal, vacker natur, tyst och lugnt och en fin matsal. DÀr slutar det positiva. Man fÄr inte förföras av de vackra bilderna pÄ hemsidan för dom Àr lite missvisande. Rummen ligger i lite slitna, typ 70-talsannex som verkligen behöver rustas upp. Vi Ät ingen mat pÄ hotellet sÄ den kan vi inte uttala oss om, men frukosten hade tyvÀrr mer att önska. Ingen varm mat. Inte ens kokta Àgg. Vi Àr inte sÄ krÀsna, sÄ vi skrattade mest Ät det hela. Summering: Lite plus, men mest minus.

Quiet location

We had an ok one-night stay, although we didn’t really get to see the manor house. Staff was friendly and accomodating. Cozy julbord / Christmas buffet, although only water was included in the price. Breakfast could be better - only cold cuts, bread, cereals and yogurt. I missed some warm dishes like eggs and maybe bacon. Otherwise, it’s an ok stay.
