Staff are very welcoming, the room is spacious and comfortable, altogether excellent at a reasonable price. A little out of town but easy ride by Metro and/or bus.

The room was great, the staff excellent and the bar fabulous especially the happy hour roulette. Our only gripe was the bed was a bit too firm,didn't sleep very well. The value for money is fantastic.

An immaculate hotel with high quality fixtures and fittings. Staff friendly and helpful. I did not eat here. WIFI was terrible which is the only reason I didn’t score it as 5 perfect!

This was my second stay at this hotel in a couple of months because the rooms are very clean and the beds are comfortable, the staff are all extremely friendly and helpful and the breakfast is excellent value for money. The location suits me very well because it's easy to get into Newcastle either on public transport or by driving, but also it's an easy drive to get to the coast. I'd definitely recommend staying at the Great North Hotel.

The room was fine other than a leak under the sink, the guy on reception said he would do what he could to get us checked in early it was 1.58pm check in was 2pm when I pointed this out he said they had been busy yesterday but did manage to get a room for us, if he had been a little curtious and said sorry it won’t be long then great no problem but to say we were early by 2 minutes is a little naff
