"The cabin was just perfect for the 2 of us and our dog, and the location in Custer State Park was just what we were looking for, in a weekend visit. The hiking trail on the property was a great surprise and the view was spectacular. Deb, our host, was so friendly and accommodating. We had a great time exploring the black hills, including the Custer Wildlife Trail and the Needles Highway. "

"The house was spacious enough for all of us. Everything was super clean. The decor was so cute! And the house was equipped with everything we needed for our week stay with friends and family. The kids enjoyed the selection of games in the game room, was a little sad that Big Buck Hunter didn't work though. Beds were ok, they're memory foam. Shower pressure in downstairs shower was a little weak but was great in upstairs shower. Loved the hot tub but it needed cleaned. The scenery was amazing! Loved seeing the wildlife and the Spires out our cabin window! The location was great, close to town if we needed to run in and grab anything and a good central location for all the site seeing we did! We would definitely stay here again! "

"The house was very clean and the rooms were well appointed. There were ample towels. The hot tub and sauna were great. The Wi-Fi was subpar. I would recommend to the host that they put a booster in the unit. If you want to get away from everything, this is an ideal place to disconnect. If you need to work remotely, the Wi-Fi does not stay on and it’s very spotty. You can stream a movie, but you can’t watch anything live on television. Also make sure that you bring extra toiletries with you and the kitchen is not well stocked if you are a chef. "

"The Pondside Lodge was a splendid place to stay for our trip to South Dakota! The lodge is beautifully furnished and spotlessly clean. The living room picture window looks out over the pond and the Needles are clearly visible in the distance. It is a very relaxing location - quiet and lovely. We saw turkeys and deer every day going to and from the lodge. The lodge is a short drive to the Custer Wildlife Loop (spectacular!), the Needles Highway (amazing!), and Sylvan Lake (stunning!). Custer, just a few miles up the road, offers many delicious options for dinner, and the kitchen in the lodge is well-equipped if you want to eat in. I recommend the Pondside Lodge wholeheartedly for a restful vacation!"
