La Serena Inn
"The staff here were excellent. The location is fantastic, easily walkable to the Harbour for most. There is a very steep hill that leads down right before the harbor. The room was very clean, but the hallway leading to the room had a very low dropped ceiling. Maybe 8’ (but felt more like 7’6”) but that and the shower are the only cons I can say about this place. Parking was easy and our late arrival (10p) was accommodated by a lock box with our room keys in it. Now more about the shower. The head in our room was low, and so was the water pressure. I’d say shower head was about 6’ and very close to the wall. It was easy enough to aim the head up high enough but the water pressure, although adequate, was low and it took longer to rinse off. The mini refrigerator had a freezer that was very convenient. The tv was large enough and directv was nice with both HBO and I think Cinemax. Bed was firm and comfortable with three pillows, four would have been preferred. The balcony was very small, (standing room only) but the view of the rock from our room was amazing. Noise levels were fine with the sliding door closed, blackout curtains were fantastic and the ac/heat were good and didn’t emit any foul smells. Even though pets were allowed in this hotel for a fee, the room didn’t stink like dogs or any other animals. We would definitely stay here again."
