I previously stayed at this hotel so I booked again for the last week before back to school. I booked two rooms for my large family. I checked in and received the room keys. As soon as we walked in the first room, we immediately knew something was off. The room smelled horribly and when we looked around we saw mold all over the walls and ceiling. It was a lot and very noticeable. Not sure how the property could have let the room get booked. This level of mold is from constant neglect. I was supposed to be in this room with my two babies. I went to the front desk to show them pictures of all the mold. There were no rooms available. I requested a refund of the room. My family then had to share the remaining room. We were crowded but what could we do. One of the bed options was a sofa bed. We pulled it out and the mattress also had mold. At this point, this is just getting absurd. The mattress and the frame was covered in mold. We requested a new mattress and luckily we got one but it still felt ick to be in that room. Expedia has been amazing throughout but I can’t see myself going to this hotel again.

The location is perfect. It’s right on the boardwalk, across from the beach. The pool is great too. The rooms are fine. Not great. They’re kind of tired, especially for the price, but in this situation, you are paying for the location. I don’t think I’d stay there again because we didn’t have hot water. Someone from maintenance came to look at it and confirmed that we had no hot water but didn’t fix it.

Excellent location for experiencing the beach and boardwalk. We have 3 small kids and we enjoyed the walkout entrance to the boardwalk that was accessible with our wagon and the saltwater pool. Only one minor downside was that we couldn’t get Netflix in the room for the kids as the tvs were rather old. Not a big deal but would have been helpful when getting ready, etc.

Found 2 bugs that appeared to be roaches in the room. Bathroom was very small. Overall the hotel stay was fine. Would have been nice to have free coffee station available. Spent $40 on coffee over 4 days.

Look out for $90 per day on "taxes and fees"! The room was clean, but why put just two towels, and one soap bar in a room with two queen beds and sofa bed? I called for extra towels and got them, and called for extra toiletries for day 2 and 3 and got them. (I did then tip both of the delivery folks, but why weren't they given from the get go?) Location could not be better, restaurant is very good, but some front desk staff are underwhelming. Note: the discount for beach umbrellas is just $2. PS: pool was very crowded; we skipped it.

Cleaning staff had no schedule. One day we were woken at 10:00, the next they didn’t show up until we called at 5:00pm and this morning they cleaned out our room while we were at breakfast. Toilet broke twice. Air conditioning didn’t work properly. When I called the front desk to discuss they hung up on me.

The Sands had two events scheduled in their conference rooms the first two nights we were there. They were very loud. We also had little kids running up and down the hallways screaming the first two days. Obnoxious. The kids in the pool screamed and got in our way most days. Not what we expected. Don't think we'll go back there.

Great location. Beach followed by pool every day. Attentive wait staff re: food and drink, although one day there was an error with the bill. Rooms are spacious and clean, but we had to ask for 2 towels because only 2 were in the room and we are a family of 4. Out 2nd to last day there, we were down to 1/3 roll of TP but maid service did not replenish. Also the Keurig in the room did not work. Overall good but some issues.

Had a wonderful stay and would definitely recommend. I wish there were two pools though. Maybe an indoor pool too. The pool was always packed and not enough lounge chairs for others. Some people reserving chairs for other people.
