One of our worst Expedia reservation experiences EVER. After we booked the non-refundable room (on a VERY long travel day with 2 senior dogs), I received a message to check with the hotel about the availability of pet-friendly rooms. Unfortunately, since this dump was off the interstate, I didn’t have service to call the place until we were right there in the vicinity. We decided just to go in and ask about our room. Not only were WE denied a “pet-friendly” room, but so far, we’ve also been denied a refund for a situation over which we were not informed could be a problem until after we’d paid in full. We are beyond angry!

Decent spot

I wasn’t expecting much—just a clean bed, maybe a quiet night—but this budget hotel turned out to be a real surprise. The staff were genuinely friendly, not in a scripted way, but like they actually cared if you had a good stay. The room was spotless, like someone had taken their time with it. Not just surface clean, but the kind of clean that makes you exhale a little when you walk in. The pool and hot tub worked, which feels worth noting these days. They weren’t flashy, but they were warm, functional, and open. And out back, there was even a small green space for your dog out back. It was peaceful back there. Quiet. A little unexpected patch of calm. There were a couple of drawbacks. The mattress was softer than I’d like, kind of squishy, without much support. And the breakfast leaned heavily salty, like everything had spent a little too long in the seasoning bin. But for the price? Honestly, this is about as good as it gets. Nothing fancy, but everything you need. I’d stay again.

We made the reservation on our way because of storms. The property said pet-friendly. The room said pet-friendly. It wasn’t until AFTER I paid that I got a warning that said, “Not all rooms are pet-friendly.” When I got there, sure enough, our room was not. So we and our 10-pound dog were out. We were also out over $100 because we’d already paid and they require 24 hour notice for a cancellation EVEN THOUGH I MADE THE RESERVATION 15 MINUTES EARLIER! You live and learn, I guess, but the guy at the front counter was a real jerk about it. Congratulations on your unearned money from us. If you have a pet, DO NOT make a reservation here!!!
