"Lovely lodge right in the center of quaint Occidental. 2 minute walking distance to most restaurants and markets. We had an updated room and it was fresh and was a non-pet use room, which is nice for those with sensitive pet allgergies. Very comfortable bed. Helpful staff. Sometimes front desk is unmanned so review check in/check out instructions."

"We stayed in the cottage for 2 nights, while lovely except the piano was out of tune and with the price per night, I expected a cleaner place. My husband got bit twice by spiders which is not surprising because I saw spider webs downstairs mostly in the recessed light sockets and the plantation shutter top windows in the livingroom and the armoire at the front door had not been dusted on top for years. I killed a black spider in the downstairs bathroom wall. Otherwise, we had a lovely visit with a delicious breakfast and good AC because it was hot that week. The staff was attentive and respectful. The upstairs bedroom was lovely and very clean but downstairs was not as clean with all the spider webs. I missed having a drip coffee maker and a blender for my smoothies."
