Very convenient to the Highway 290 wineries. Check in was very easy and friendly as was check out. The property is clean, and well appointed. Only complaint, very narrow check-in window.

Love the stay with family, except the hot tub wasn't available, it was out of order. Kids.were looking forward to it.. also the kitchen was shuts early at 9 despite the kitchen closes at 10pm.. little bit disappointed with that too.. over all its not too bad, we always love it here..

Conveniently located between Johnson City and the Hye/Stonewall area and not to far from Fredericksburg. The on-site winery, brewery and restaurant are excellent. The food is great and they also serve the beers and wines from their own facilities. The suites are very spacious and have a separate bedroom and living area as well as an outside porch. All staff are friendly, courteous, and helpful. We have stayed in many places in this area over the years and now this is our go-to place to stay.

It was an okay stay, but there were flies in our room when we got in. We called the front desk to clear out the flies while we left to get something to eat, but I don't think they did anything because there were still flies when we got back. There was also hair in the bathtub, which was disappointing. Another annoyance was the bathroom door. It was a barn-style door, which honestly didn't make sense to me because, while it was easy to operate from outside the bathroom, the same cannot be said for while inside the bathroom. It was difficult to open it close the door from within the bathroom. Also, the bathroom light switch was outside the bathroom, so if one wanted to use the bathroom at night, you'd have to turn on the light before you got into the bathroom. This has the unfortunate side effect of bathing the bedroom with light and waking the other occupants of the room whenever one went into and out of the bathroom. I think this design choice was an oversight and should be fixed. The Old 290 Brewery restaurant was very good, on the other hand. The food was excellent, the ambience and the service were top notch as well.
