The best hotel near Tondo

Excellent buffet breakfast, the kids love the kiddie pool. It is close to Deca Mall where the kids go everyday to the playhouse and come back to a quiet, comfortable, secure hotel. Hotel starr is easy to work with.

The street around the hotel was fairly run down but an advantage was the direct entry to the train station from the mezzanine of the hotel. Nice room, quiet airconditioning.

Average stay

Staff were very attentive and polite. Room was okay, mattress was very firm and we had 2 baby cockroaches too. The shower flooded very easily as the drain seemed to actually be uphill of the floor, meaning not all of the water will ever drain. Very loud neighbours with children running around screaming, although this is not the fault of the hotel.

We liked the location. Close to T1 line and local attractions. The hotel is very run down and needs improvements. Rooms are average no windows. The staff made our stay very enjoyable always there yo help and advise us.

The service in the restaurant was very unhelpful and very very slow and forgetting orders Also after sitting in the restaurant Nobody came to our table for one hour Then they only took my partners order and forgot me Then when her food arrived they just served me a bowl of rice and no main course I then told them you haven't taken my order yet ! I then ordered my main course of chicken n garlic rice This then took another twenty minutes and arrived with no garlic rice So this item came after ten more minutes The restaurant only had two other tables to look after So i think this is the worst hotel in Manila And would not recommend it to anyone

The location is really good, situated near terminals and there's a path going straight to LRT. My kids had fun and enjoyed the pool and I enjoyed the steam room too. Free breakfast is just okay and basic. The TV is just basic, no Smart apps, just basic channels,ang so we just didn't use it. The exhaust in the bathroom is pretty loud and noisy, so taking a shower is not that relaxing. No other switch to turn it off. Staff are polite and accomodating

A hotel with historical significance!

Location is central with direct access to public transport. Room is good sized. Mattress is too firm for me. Although towels are clean, I would kindly suggest to change to new ones as they look old. Pool is good sized and there is a service elevator to avoid the main lobby. There is a sauna room but I did not use this. Food is average for me. The staff is brilliant. They are all friendly, polite and very helpful. There is a casino on-site and entertainment in the evening. There is a supermarket across the street too. Parking for guest is available. I will stay again.

Fantastic value, nice pool and sauna. Rooms were good. Mattress a bit tough but okay. Breakfast in the morning was nice. Access to the LRT railway station directly from the platform. Hot water shower. Enjoyed my few nights here and would return. Staff professional and courteous.
