On arrival the room was very cold. The heating system did not allow us to change the temperature to something higher than 68 degrees. We were provided a space heater. That worked. We had the heater for the entire stay. Staff was very friendly and efficient when we had questions and requests. Housekeeping was very good.

If you're going to Concord, NH, and have a few bucks to spend, you owe it to yourself to consider The Centennial. The third floor, where I stayed, is truly special. With the hotel's quirky roofline, I had the pleasure of getting a room with abundant angles and nooks, giving it terrific character. Some don't necessarily ken to this kind of charm, and if you're one of them, ask for a room on the second floor. I hear they're brighter and slightly more spacious. All rooms are well appointed and have the kinds of hip bathrooms you'd ask for in this level of hotel. Also, you need go no further than The Granite Restaurant and its adjacent bar to have a great evening. Can't wait to go back!

Overnight at the Centennial

Pros: I like buildings with history and character and this hotel had lots of that
We had business in Henniker New Hampshire and we were recommended to the Centennial. It was our first visit. The hotel has character and presence. It was repurposed in 1994, so the interior has been modernized. Yet it still has some of the old moldings and character from it's previous life. It is central to the town of Concord. The Granite restaurant was both popular and the food was excellent! Our party of 6 all reported that their food was excellent! We made it a point to eat there for breakfast as well. The waitress Brie at dinner was great, she was helpful and attentive. Katie who was our waitress at Sunday morning breakfast was sunny and bubbly! I had booked my trip through Travlocity's website. The reservation was waiting when we arrived and we were upgraded to the Turret (building feature) on the 3rd floor. Architecturally, a very interesting suite. I would definitely go there again!

Nice hotel, close to downtown.

Cons: There was a little light leak from the hallway (via the door) which was near the bed.
Location: Downtown Concord has lots of nice restaurants and shops to check out.
Nice hotel, close to downtown Concord. The front desk people were very friendly and helpful. We stayed one night and had no complaints. There is a nice lil restaurant on the first floor. It's expensive but it's always a plus when you can order room service or just go downstairs to eat. The rooms was well furnished and cleanly. They had a few local magazines on the table top and water in the fridge. There were robes and slippers in the closet and plenty of towels in the bathroom. Overall very nice stay in this inn styled hotel!

A hidden New Hampshire gem

If the Centennial were in Manhattan it would be considered a really cool boutique hotel, instead it is a really hot Concorde hostelry. Recently renovated throughout every room is different and all have neat design touches. The staff are all super-friendly and the Granite Bar and Restaurant are almost worth the trip on their own. Great atmosphere, interesting eclectic menu, deliciously prepared food and a reasonably priced but good wine list. St.Paul's School is just up the road and parents compete for the limited rooms around school events, so try to stay away from such dates - unless you're a school parent that is. Great find, a modern country inn without the attendant flock wallpaper!

centennial inn

i have been staying at the centennial since the day the opened, it has been 12-15 years, we stayed 2 weekends a year, went to the nascar race, we went thru manny owners, as of 2007 the family oriented hotel was wonderful i enjoyed both weekens, now that it is again under new owners, i was only a reservation paying triple then the prior year. all the old staff fired. nothing the same, no charm, no cosy, nothing. so needles to say 2008 we have had to find other hotels. the hotel is very nice, they did a nice job, but it became a upsacle hotel, staff does not speak, they all keep their noses up in the air. and this is a little hotel in a little country town. sorry to say felt very bad leaving, but after 15yrs we would of like a little consideration.
