2/10 Terrible

The house itself wasn’t bad, there were just a few minor issues. What made the stay challenging, however, was our experience communicating with the host. Each time we reached out with a question, we were met with threats to cancel our reservation rather than assistance. Upon arrival, when we had a few follow-up questions about the property, the person who answered the phone told us, “If you don’t like it, you can just pack your stuff and leave. Leave now!” It was -13 outside during a popular ski weekend, with no realistic alternative accommodations available. As a result, we felt uncomfortable and genuinely concerned that we might return from the mountain to find ourselves locked out. The bathroom light was not working, and there were no sheets provided for the pullout bed — only blankets. In the bunk room, the second “single bed” is actually a trundle-style pullout stored underneath the bunk. It appears to be improperly assembled and squeaks loudly whenever someone moves, which made it difficult to sleep. None of these issues were addressed in fear we’d find ourselves on the other end of what we couldn’t figure out were real or blanket threats. That underlying tension significantly impacted our stay. The property itself has strong potential, but the communication and handling of guest concerns made the experience unnecessarily stressful. Future guests may want to be aware of this dynamic before booking. I’ve never experienced such a thing and hope to never again.
