Fronting on to the beautifully sheltered Malua Bay beach at Garden Bay, Beachfront Shack is the quintessential retro 1960’s fun filled shack full of memories made and adventures yet to be had.

Abundant with charm, this character filled shack has direct private access to the beach along with a glorious hot water outdoor rainfall shower and boasts the absolute best beachfront position for miles around in order to walk the ten steps it takes to get the provided Sea Kayak or the two Stand Up Paddle boards straight into the water.

As you walk through the door, you will notice something wonderfully different here.

With the beach and ocean beckoning to you through the window, you may choose to sit on the deck under the sun shelter looking at passing whales whilst watching the kids snorkelling in the child friendly sheltered bay out front, abundant with sea life, where dolphins and seals often come in to play.

Choose to do something. Or nothing at all. Activities a-plenty.

Having seen the sunrise over the beach and ocean from your bed whilst listening to the crashing waves, you might become inspired to start your morning by grabbing one of the two Stand Up Paddleboards provided and walking the ten steps it takes from the back of the house to reach the calm, child friendly beachfront of Garden Bay. Or simply take a morning leap and dive into the water - it’s a simply glorious way to start the day! Some will find that a simple stroll on the beach, feeling the sand through your toes will equally suffice!

Kids are provided with a couple of snorkelling sets and flippers, or can instead jump on into the 2+1 Sea Kayak, grab a small surfboard, or alternatively one of the three bodyboards supplied to get out in the water. All of which are included for your enjoyment.

Once you’ve finished frolicking in the water, there’s nothing quite that compares to coming straight out off the beach to then be welcomed by your own private hot water outdoor rainfall shower. It’s one of life’s true luxuries that makes wandering both in as well as out of the ocean from your beachfront property, equally indulgent. Perfect for rinsing off the sand and sea, and simply divine to become immersed in after a refreshing morning dip!

If you have a furry friend, they’re absolutely going to love you for bringing them along. Beachfront Shack is pet friendly, as is the beach at the back door. Dogs are allowed off leash on the beach all day and night during 1 May until 31 October. During the dates of 1 Nov to 30 April, they can run around on or off leash on the beach before 9am and after 5pm.

If you prefer your breakfast being made for you, a comfortable morning stroll will see you at one of the best breakfasts on the South Coast in under 10 minutes.

The North facing outlook of Beachfront Shack, directly overlooking the beach and ocean maintains a comfortable temperature all year around, with the climate inside easily and comfortably controlled by the reverse cycle air conditioning.

Less than 2 minutes spent in the car will have you at the local supermarket, bottle shop, butcher, pharmacy, Chinese restaurant and fish and chip shop. Another minute will have you at “Club Malua” with wonderful club meals for lunch and dinner, within a bright, fresh and delightful atmosphere.

Only a 10 minute drive from Beachfront Shack is the simply superb and newly established Foxdog Distillery and Café. On the way back, stop in for a cleanser at the Broulee Brewhouse (more than just a brewery, it’s a community hub!), 14 minutes later you’ll be back at Beachfront Shack.

Take the kids on a short 12 minute drive from Beachfront Shack to discover the tremendous Mogo Wildlife Park where amongst other activities, you can hand feed kangaroos, deer and camels. Times are also available to hand feed giraffes as well as close-up, personal animal encounters can be arranged with your choice of lions, tigers, Nepalese red pandas, meerkats, lemurs, tamarins, squirrel monkeys, a binturong, hyenas and even a white rhino!

For those seeking more adventure, within a 15 minute drive from Beachfront Shack, you have access to Sky Diving, Scuba Diving and Whale Watching tours.

Then need to recharge your Electric Vehicle at the end of the day? No problem! Beachfront Shack has a 3 phase, Level 2 Fast Charger for overnight charging so as you can continue your adventures in or out, whenever you choose.

For those to whom the environment matters, you will be pleased to know that 50% of the profits from the tissues and toilet paper provided goes to help build toilets and improve sanitation in the developing world.


The fine print

For insurance and safety reasons, each booking is required to include a minimum of one guest over the age of 25yrs residing on site for the duration of the booking.

With all watersport activities utilising equipment provided such as kayak, surfboard and/or Stand Up Paddleboard, adult supervision is required at all times. When utilising kayak, guests are required to wear life buoyancy vests provided as per NSW law

Please note that Beachfront Shack may not be well suited for people with mobility restrictions.

With bedding available to sleep 8 people, a maximum of 6 adults are to stay at Beachfront Shack overnight, thereby enabling 2 children under the age of 18 to stay overnight. The ideal configuration that Beachfront Shack is designed for is 4 adults (2 couples) and up to 4 children.
