I called and emailed for connecting rooms (as we traveled with children); the manager refused to assist and acted as if he was doing us a favor by staying there. While checking in, there were multiple overheard complaints from other guests about the condition of their room, attitudes of staff, inability to have their family members on the same floor. There was not enough staff to handle the number of guest. 2 bartenders at the pool side bar for 420 full rooms. Some of the staff had attitudes, with some complaining that they are not paid well (or able to eat the food at the hotel), but expected to do the work of multiple people. My husband saw a roach in our room and 3 other rooms reported that they also saw roaches. The housekeeper did the bare minimum (not fully stocking towels or rags or cleaning the mirrors). The balcony slider was stuck and opened only slightly in our room. Another guest reported that their slider fell off and onto their son. Nothing was done to remedy by management... If you need adjoining rooms or travel with a group, you are rolling a dice by booking here. They are not keen on customer service AT ALL!!! Although I will not be returning to this hotel, I have to acknowledge the staff at the kids club. My children thoroughly enjoyed them and the activities (I'm not good with names, but I remember : Hailey and Bronx girl). There were some personable staff , like the pool towel lady, supervisors that sit the guests at the eateries and wait staff: Anthony

The property is nice and active . The food choices were okay. One thing that bothered me was the crowd and having to wait for elevators and the lines to enter the restaurants at peak times for breakfast and dinner. The staff and employees were great. Rooms nice clean and stocked.

This is a turist trap.If you are traveling with kids go away right now.Under staff and really rude/non attentive personel.Facilities are small for the amount of guest.Food mediocre at the buffet and lack of variety.Long lines for everithing!! I mean everithing!!! From a burguer at the pool to any restaurant/buffet.Pool and kids pool full of people and not to mention elevators…get ready to be compressed or go all the way up just to get in.Sheets were never changed despite one of the lilltle ones make a mess with chocolate.Ice machines broken so you need to fight your way on the elevator in order to go to another floor with a working one.The only good thing is the beach at Maho and next to the airport. Here you have a non return customer.All inclusive is over rated for the mount of better restaurants on the island.

My husband and I stayed at your St. Maarten location from August 19th to August 26th. While we appreciated the warm welcome — including the complimentary champagne and cold water upon arrival — our overall experience was unfortunately very disappointing due to the lack of cleanliness and slow response to maintenance issues. Upon entering our room, it was immediately apparent that it had not been thoroughly cleaned. We noticed smudges and what appeared to be bugs on the walls, and as the days passed, more cleanliness issues became evident. The bathroom was especially problematic: the shower flooded, and despite multiple calls and visits to the front desk, it took over an hour for maintenance to arrive. The technician informed us that a flat piece was missing from the shower and proceeded to remove clumps of hair (not ours) and sand from the drain — which was quite unpleasant. He promised to notify housekeeping, but no one came for over 30 minutes. Eventually, someone arrived only to lay towels down without mopping up the water, which remained on the floor until housekeeping came the following Other room issues included Mold and grime around the shower and between the tiles Dirty floors, walls, doors, and ceiling A toilet that wouldn’t flush (again requiring a long wait for assistance) A loud, persistent buzzing sound from the air conditioning unit Cleanliness was clearly lacking, and we were very uncomfortable throughout our stay. The resort’s location near the airport beach is convenient, but almost everything else was disappointing. While La Fontana served quality meals and a few staff members were helpful, these positives were rare exceptions. The property is clearly understaffed for the number of guests. Long waits were common at check-in, restaurants, and bars, and cleanliness suffered. Our bathroom had mold due to poor shower design and lack of maintenance, and the floors did not appear to be cleaned daily or even between guests. Amenities also fall short. With essentially one usable pool, space was limited and chairs were claimed early. Restaurants were overcrowded, and food often ran out before the end of service. Desserts in particular were rarely available by the last seating. Food quality was highly inconsistent. At Jing’s Kitchen, most dishes felt pre-made and reheated, while La Fontana offered fresh, made-to-order meals. The other restaurants fell somewhere in between, leaving dining unpredictable. There is also little differentiation between Maho Beach and the adults-only Ocean Point. Ocean Point only offers two exclusive restaurants while most dining and the beach are shared. Many Ocean Point guests spent time at Maho anyway, which made the two resorts feel blended together. Overall, Sonesta Maho struggles with staffing, upkeep, space, and food consistency. Visitors to Sint Maarten may be better off booking an Airbnb, renting a vehicle, exploring restaurants, and enjoying excursions

The Staff was horrible and rude they clam your rooms are preselected my kids stay on a different floor from me. There was no hot water and the food not much of a selection

We asked for pool view and got it however, we were given a ground floor room and had ants the entire time we were there! Other than that, I highly recommend Sonesta. Everything about it was awesome! The shows, entertainment, staff, food, area, pool and beach!
