We were so pleased with Nova Sintra Hotel. The father/son team, Rui & Simao, who run the hotel, were gregarious and happy to share tourist/restaurant tips and recommendations which always exceeded our expectations. Breakfast here was excellent. Hotel itself is well-appointed, very clean, comfy beds and in a great location for walking to train/tour buses/old town, Quinta, etc I’d highly recommend this inn!

Our hosts for this property were a father and son team. This little boutique hotel has been in the family since 1946 and their pride of ownership shows everywhere. The breakfast was perfect. Everything was fresh and delicious and a very nice addition to our stay. They were so accommodating trying to make our stay perfect. This 10 room property is a little gem…a must stay👍

This was the best hotel experience we ever had! They are so accommodating and hospitable. Breakfast was great and we had a location to put our car in free parking. Plenty of delicious restaurants within walking distance.

The hotel was lovely, for a two star hotel. I did not realize it when I booked, but they proudly display this fact at their entrance gate. Speaking of the entrance gate, once you go through it, there are two flights of stairs to get to the registration area and rooms. No elevator. My husband was not impressed! The room was adequate, but not what was expected for a "nice" hotel. The bathroom and especially shower were very small. The towels were thin. It is family owned, run by a father and son. They were very nice and helpful, suggesting things to do when the main monuments were closed due to risk of fire. They also pointed out where to park for free, a few blocks away. There is a laundry mat next door. If I went back, I'd find a different place to stay.

The Hotel Nova Sintra deserves 10 stars! The owner and his son set the standard for how to treat hotel guests. We felt so welcomed and appreciated. The hotel itself is lovely from the entrance and throughout. Breakfast was delicious with eggs, meats, cheeses, breads, yogurt, pastries, coffees and juice. It was just perfect! Our room was comfortable, clean and spacious and the terrace was perfect for an evening cocktail. Honestly, we stayed at a five star hotel in Lisbon prior and the hospitality at this hotel blew them out of the water!

Amazing location to explore Sintra! This is a family run boutique hotel (father and son), and they are extremely welcoming and friendly. They were able to give us all the local tips for navigating the area, and the location itself was perfect walking distance to the bus loop which covers all the major points of Sintra. Plenty of restaurants are nearby, and the hotel itself is clean and charming with a great breakfast.

What a lovely place! Everything was wonderful from the welcome to the breakfast to the genuine host, Rui! It's a short walk to the palace/town but provided relaxation after busy days! The rooftop patio was a treat as well. Even after my stay, Rui took the time to send a forgotten personal belonging back to me - well above and beyond host duties. I cannot thank him enough!
