We had a lovely stay at The Castle Hotel but be warned they operate a direct booking policy for using their car park. As we had booked through Expedia we had to pay to use the council car park across the road even though there were spaces in the hotel car park ‘in case’ someone who had booked direct wanted to use the car park.

I had a good stay at the Castle Hotel. Lovely little hotel, super comfy bed and gorgeous bed linen. The room was spotless and generous tea and coffee making facilities. Nice bathroom products. No A/C as it's a beautiful old building, but that was fine as was able to open windows and control the radiator. I didn't have a cooked breakfast but buffet options were fine and the other guests seemed to be enjoying their cooked food. I will stay again, thank you.

Castle Hotel first visit.

Very happy with our stay at the castle hotel bailgate. Clean, welcoming, great location. Breakfast was first rate, freshly cooked to order and very tasty. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Will definitely go back if I were to visit again.

My room overlooking the castle walls was spotless. However, the furnishings and decor were a little exhausted looking there and in public areas. The vegetarian breakfast was outstanding. Good quality ingredients and piping hot.

Wonderful night away in a lovely cottage. We didn’t get the extra bedding that we had paid for, so had to go over to the hotel to sort. We were given the extra bedding, but had to make up the sofa bed ourselves. One of the spare pillows was mouldy.
