Double Booked non stay
We arrived to find a couple already in residence having arrived that morning. Gentlemen at the property called the owner who refused to speak to me directly, give his name or email address. Throughout booking, host did not reply to initial booking 3 times including pre trip departure and only by automated text 2 days pre arrival. Alternative accommodation had to be found at 5.30 pm in Lille on a Sunday evening. A claim for full compensation was accepted and the money was refunded .This coincided with the Tour de France being in Lille and the person at the property obviously paid more than we did on the original booking from February. Throughout VRBO staff were helpful and sorted the refund for which we are grateful. I still don't really know why this occurred .
