This was our first time in Lexington. This a gorgeous hotel! The front desk staff, servers, food, room, and location were perfect. We loved our stay so much we want to come back. It even snowed and made the hotel magical. Elizabeth and Trace were our servers for brunch and dinner, respectively. They were kind, helpful, and sweet. They are an asset to Elwood. The chef must be commended on his food. We enjoyed our french toast and eggs benedict with perfectly poached eggs. Then Trace even stayed to serve us our dinner when our event got out late. I devoured the chicken parmesan while my husband enjoyed the gnocchi bolognese. We also enjoye our key lime pie dessert. I wanted to try the gnocchi Sunday night but they didn't serve dinner. We went next door to Ravenhouse and missed Fiddletree so much! The room was very spacious, comfortable, clean, and I loved the mini fridge. It was large enough to store my custom cake. We have been world travelers for 30+ years and there's only one other hotel that reminds us of Elwood and it's in Savannah, GA. I love the charm and whimsical design throughout the hotel. The urban furniture and soaps added to the luxury of the space. Thank you for being the most unique and fabulous hotel in Lexington.

We stayed here for one night while visiting colleges with my daughter, and initially we were drawn in by the photos and the price point. The hotel is on the smaller side and has clearly been recently remodeled with incredible style. The decor is trendy, modern, and very thoughtfully done — from the furniture to the wall art. Every corner feels curated and Instagram-worthy. The bar area was especially stunning and beautifully designed. There’s also a really nice outdoor seating space, which we unfortunately couldn’t enjoy because of the cold weather, but it looked like a great spot in warmer months. Our room was large, simple, and stylish — clean lines and almost mid-century modern finishes. The bathroom, however, was a bit small compared to the size of the room, cold and didn’t drain fast. While everything looks fantastic in photos (and largely in person), you can still sense that the building used to be older. Even though most surfaces have been refinished, there’s a subtle feeling of the building’s age that comes through. The hallways had a slightly musty smell, which was noticeable. Overall, it’s a visually beautiful hotel with great design and solid value for the price — especially for a short stay. With just a few improvements it could truly match the level its photos promise.

Staff was very nice. The room was spacious, clean and the bed was comfortable. The live plants in the room were a nice touch. They’re also dog friendly which was great! The restaurant/bar area downstairs was lovely and fun to hang out at. There was also live music on Saturday evening. We ate breakfast Sunday morning and it was pretty good.
