The Omni Homestead Resort & Spa
"I think the activities are the star here. I stayed 2 nights, weather was fabulous. I’d definitely try to get discounted rates. Room and food were average. I wouldn’t use the term “luxurious” here. Pool and hot tub were very nice. Prepare for an expansive property. I love all the porches and seating areas throughout. They have a full movie theater. The room was lacking a bit which I think just needs better housekeeping audits - no handsoap or kleenex present, did not have warm water in shower, would call it cool. Bathroom fan looks like it has not been cleaned for years (not kidding). The only comment I have about all these types of hotels is that the mountains and the small town here (a lot closed mondays and tuesdays) are by nature inhospitable. There should be a 24 hour stand somewhere within the property where guests can get needed items in the middle of the night. There is no CVS, no Walgreens, no ubers, etc. etc. but if comfort and taking care of guests is important, I should not have to anticipate all this and learn the hard way when I get here. Fortunately a family member works around here so I’m familiar with the limitations. An IGA grocery store (not within walking distance) is here in town and closes nightly at 9 pm."
