Last night was the worst hotel experience I have ever had - I am not exaggerating. After staying at the Fireside inn in West Leb 2-3 nights a month for the last several months, I will not be returning. I have never been as insulted as I was by their front desk staff person as I was last night. This stay, I tried to sleep through a neighbor who left their TV on all night. Whatever they were watching, it was full of low level dialog (could hear that someone was talking but couldn’t really make out what they were saying), intermittent shouting/screaming, occasional horns/screeches, persistent clicking/tapping – the longer I listened the more I thought it sounded like a video game. There was just enough sound coming through the wall to hear it any time the room fan was not on and the sound was random enough to wake me up every time. I tried the friendly wall slap a couple of times but, after a really restless night, I finally gave up just before 4 am and called the desk. In response to my request for help, he made an anemic first phone call 10-15 minutes later. The phone rang three times with no answer (I could hear the phone ringing through wall). I waited a few minutes and since the TV was still on, I called the front desk back. The response I got was basically "There's nothing I can do." I asked him to please try again. A few minutes later he did, allowing the phone to ring longer, but still got no answer and the TV continued. I tried knocking on the wall again but got no resp

Staff support was insulting. I have been coming here about one night a week for the last several months but will not be coming back. This is the second time a noisy neighbor ruined my stay. Not sure if walls are paper thin/less sound proof, but it is really hard to ignore noise here. This stay, I tried to sleep through neighbor with TV on all night - low level dialog, intermittent shouting/screaming, occasional horns, persistent clicking/tapping (a little like a video game), etc. Just enough coming through the wall to hear any time the room fan was not on. Gave up around 4 am and called desk. He made anemic first phone call 10 minutes later - rang three times with no answer (could really hear phone ringing through wall). I explained that they were likely losing a customer - there are many other options in the area to choose from. An argument resulted. "What would you have me do?" I suggested they listen to their customer and go knock on the door, what if the person was in trouble (passed out, OD, in medical distress?) I’ve stayed at the fireside several times was aggravating this time because my wife couldn’t use the hot tub. It was not hot. It was only 90° and there was a bunch of kids playing in the pool, jumping into the hot tub and back into the pool and the staff wouldn’t do anything about it.

The hotel was cool and family friendly. We loved the turtles and fish and the 24 hour ice cream fridge, but we did find reading glasses and a cane in our room. The glasses were under the sheets and the cane was under the bed. We hope next time they do a better job cleaning the room.😂
