It was a relaxing stay. The bed was comfortable, the room was clean and walkable to the beach. Checking in and checking out was a breeze. Front desk person, Travis was very helpful and pleasant. We will check in at this hotel again.

It is definitely NOT a resort. Its a Motel next to the lake. Rooms were small. Thankfully we changed to a different hotel the same night. Bathrooms were so dirty. This place doesn’t look anything like the picture. Only pro amongst all the cons is that you can walk to the overly crowded “beach” But its definitely a Motel and not a resort !

This property could be AMAZING, however it is heartbreaking how dirty, musty, and out dated everything is. There's a fridge, no microwave. Our 1st room was so dirty we switched to another room after the 1st night. My son got out of the shower and walked to the bed and his feet were completely black on the bottom. The 2nd room wasn't much cleaner and the next 3 nights housekeeping NEVER CAME! We had to go to the front desk to ask for clean towels. Thankfully I travel with an extra roll of toilet paper and box of tissues, bc we needed them! The TV wouldn't turn off, so we had to unplug it. Once plugged in again it never turned back on. Not the biggest deal, but just added to our over all bad experience. Our 1st room was on the 2nd floor and we switched to the 1st floor to have easy access to the "garden" area thru the back sliding door. The door was more than difficult to open and close (of course we made sure the lock bar was down before trying to open the door) we ended up having to walk out the front door and around the back of the build for her to go to the bathroom. The air conditioner said 61° running constantly, and never came close to that. Bathroom window, while glazed had no curtain as the 2nd floor room did so we had to keep the window shut so no one could look in the screen. The comforters had blood stains on them, in both rooms! The gentleman at desk(who was leaving to go back to school) was super nice about everything and helpful. S'mores were a highlight.

It was on the beach and close to most things. However for the price I expected things to be better. The room was noisy, no body wash in the bathroom & the shampoo and conditioner worked poorly. There was a constant tapping from the air conditioner from the A/C above us dropping water, and the parking was terrible.

The location is good and the older buildings are well-maintained and the rooms are updated. It has direct access to the beach and a small, expensive bar. ($18 cocktails) I would not stay here again for several reasons. -- The vibe is more carnival cruise lines (loud music, drinking) than beach retreat, but it's not priced accordingly. -- they charge an extra $35/day resort fee that can't be justified by any resort amenities. They have a pool and hot tub. That's it . -- No gym. -- No onsite restaurant for breakfast most days (limited weekend service after 9am) -- No lounge, sitting areas to accommodate working on laptop with an outlet. -- WiFi in our building was terrible. -- management prioritizes loud, moneymaking group events (weddings and other gatherings) over guest experience.

Attempted a nice beach getaway.

If you want to party all day and all night then this is the place to stay. We had booked a partial lake view and our view was the Tiki Bar which blared Music almost the entire day into the evening. People took our chairs off the patio and used them at the tables - we had to ask for them back. On night 2 there was some sort of party that lasted well past 1030 and honestly we were over it. The staff was nonchalant about and said “oh well.” We attempted to eat at the restaurant one night, because well parking is a nightmare here, and were met with every table dirty, no wait staff only one bartender. We waited 20 min to even be acknowledged and honestly it was dirty so we left and we Walked the 1.5 miles to Stateline. The room was nice and the service staff were great.

I have stayed here before with my sister driving in from another state and having 2 car passes was not an issue. This time we had to get it from Resort Pass and the fee is $80 per day. Thankfully after paying the $80 they granted us a pass for the entire visit so we did not have to pay for another pass. The beach is not private and the toilets are disgusting. Literally overflowing and not maintained. So walking back to your hotel room is the only option unless you pee in the lake. As a result of this, the water at the beach is filthy. Too many people peeing in the water and the usual clear tahoe water is green with nasty algae (honestly looked like poop) floating around. The rooms themselves are clean and practical if going to the beach is your main goal then it is a brief walk away. Our ice bucket was filthy and we had to clean it ourselves. Even though a cover is provided this should not substitute for cleanliness. We booked for 3 guests and only had towels for 2. Little details like this should matter when paying over $500 per night. It is in walking distance to stores and cafes so there are pros and cons. The beach was crowded as the day went on so keep that in mind too if you prefer quiet. Also watch out for staff on Golf Carts. They believe they have the right away.

All in all we had a great time. There were a few things I was not happy about but for the most part it was great. If you have issues with stairs ask for ground floor or building with elevator. We had to carry our bags up to the 2nd and 3rd floors. Tiki bar was fun , fire pits all around. Great crowd and ambiance

The Beach Retreat and Lodge is a great place to stay. The location was awesome, the beds were super comfortable and when you walked out of the lobby into the back of the hotel, a lovely resort awaits you. Being right on the magnificent Lake Tahoe with a beach/ chaise lounges and a tiki bar makes for a wonderful stay!

This resort has an absolutely spectacular location with a beautiful sandy beach and fun tiki-themed beach bar. We opted for a beachfront room with a full, unobstructed sandy beach view. It cost a pretty penny but we knew we were splurging on the view and they definitely delivered. View was gorgeous. Sunsets were stunning. I got to swim in Tahoe for the first time since I was 10 or 11 years old (I'm 50 now) which was magical. There was a fairly sizable hiccup with our check-in which resulted in us not getting into a room until close to 6pm despite arriving at the resort at 1pm, but staff were apologetic, worked hard to resolve it, and gave us a discount on our room rate, so we felt it was handled as professionally and expediently as could be expected or desired. We loved that they are dog-friendly. To other middle-aged travelers I will say that this is definitely Party Central with tons of younger people being out and about and LOUD until fairly late at night, so just know what you are booking. Next time we are in the area we will probably look for a quieter and more relaxed/low-key accommodation that will better compliment who we are and what our objectives are: however I don't hold this against the resort at all. They offer the experience they offer: it was I who should have done more homework/researched more thoroughly. Overall it was an enjoyable stay, though probably a one-and-done for us.

Pictures on the site were not accurate and location is actually very congested. This was our first time in the area getting the lay of the land. First morning a car alarm woke us up at 7:00, cars are parked right up in front of units, beach cantina was loud into the night with super drunk people (drinking games. Etc. but no dancing or live music—it was more a get wasted vibe. Lobby area was lovely but people are mostly there to work on their laptops with loud conference calls all morning. We were clearly out of place there as a vacationing family. Access to beach was nice but there was no seating or towel service so you had to kind of just stand around or know to bring your own chairs. The welcome letter said rooms would be serviced daily unless you requested NOT to. After waiting two days we called the front office and the lady made up something about only offering it every three days. By then we were swimming in dirty towels and would have planned if they had told us service wasn’t available. This property claims to be “all inclusive” but their biggest selling point is the lake and the neighboring boat rentals (amazing place!). I did like their coffee machine and access to s’mores for the kids but given the cost of these rooms we are used to getting a little more. The hotel itself is over priced and located on a very busy street and it is surrounded by parking lots. The people working there (except for one lady) were extremely nice and friendly.
