3500sf Family Home with View, Near Palisades/Squaw Valley

Wonderful Architect designed home majestically located in a private mountain setting adjacent to National Forest with no other homes in sight. The main living level has a huge great room with a 26 foot high cathedral ceiling, large stone fireplace, contemporary kitchen with stainless steel appliances, 6-burner Thermador range, granite counters, and an awesome view of Sawtooth Ridge. There is also a south facing deck with waterfall. The master bedroom wing has a large bedroom with queen size bed and bathroom with double sink, soaking tub and shower. There is also a laundry room and home office on this wing. Upstairs off the loft are a bathroom and three bedrooms with queen size beds. Enjoy the huge recreation room downstairs, with TV/VCR, sofa, ping-pong table, poker table, full bath, twin bed and bunk bed alcove. There are beds for 11, but there is also a pull out mattress under the twin bed and a futon under the bunk bed that may be used. The Placer County limit of 12 people does not include those under 16 years of age.

Other notes:

Horse shoes and corn hole are available for outdoor play during warm weather months.

As of July 2022, we have a new internet provider that does not require a satellite, so we now have excellent internet service that also allows streaming movies.

4WD or AWD with vehicles with good tires are required during winter months, even when chains are not required on the main roads, due to potentially icy driveway conditions.

Placer County short term rental regulations no longer allow use of the barbecue due to fire danger, sorry.

Great clean place to stay

We were 3 families staying for a long weekend with kids from 4-16. The property was clean really nice. We were able to cook dinner 2 nights and Palisades was very close. The kids loved staying in the rec room where there were a lot of activities for them in there. We would stay here again.

Our family went up for a family vacation and for a wedding. The house is everything you see as advertised. Check in and checkout are super easy, communication with the owner is fantastic. Large enough for our extended family and very private! Be aware that you may need 4WD to make it up the driveway depending on the weather. The cabin is very well equipped. The internet service can be spotty, but there is TV service.

Weekend stay in Tahoe

Stayed with our family for the weekend. The house was huge, plenty of room and had everything we needed. There was a power outage late at night and Kevin was quick to respond when I messaged him! The only con was there were a few little critter bugs in the basement that appeared on my cousins pillow and in the basement bathroom. Other than that, it was great for a large group!

We have 3 children under 12 and they loved the house. It is spacious. They loved the game room. We wanted to take our kids snowboarding for the first time and it was a 5 minutes drive to Palisades. Great property. Was hot at night and weren’t allowed to open all the windows and no access to AC (if there was one?). Wi-Fi wasn’t working, but owner also communicated that beforehand and apologized. Overall great stay! Will look into staying again in the future. Thank you!
