We had a wonderful stay at Skate n Ski during Christmas! We loved the beautiful decor in the house - especially all the Christmas touches! - the views of the lake, and the proximity to town and skiiing. Mary was an exceptional host and left the most sweet and thoughtful gifts for our two girls for Christmas. We will surely return for another visit. It is truly a magical place in a winter wonderland setting.

Awesome stay!

Beautifully renovated lake front cozy property. The property manager was so welcoming and made us feel at home. Super clean, comfortable beds and thoughtfully stocked kitchen. So many nice xtra touches such as a welcome basket of goodies & a personal tour of the house when we arrived. One of the best experiences at a vrbo!

Ski and skate blizzard stay

To start the host met us at the house and gave a wondwrful walk-through. Left a basket of snacks and even a short 1980 hockey story . Kids lived the place and so did the adults. Would recomend and atay thwre again myslef.

My family of 6 stayed at Mary's property for Thanksgiving. I based my booking on the reviews...and so should you! First off, the house is SPOTLESS and has everything needed to enjoy your stay. The rooms were all nicely sized, each with their own bathrooms. There were plenty of towels and extra blankets left. The kitchen was well stocked with not only dishes/pots...but garbage bags/cleaning supplies. We didn't need to bring anything but the food. The house itself just feels welcoming. The layout was perfect for my elderly parents...they had everything they needed on the main floor. We all felt at home. The kitchen was perfectly appointed to cook a Thanksgiving dinner. The house felt extremely cozy, yet there was plenty of space to not be on top of everyone. Mary was, without a doubt, the most thoughtful host...ever! She had a large gift basket on the kitchen island filled with snacks and a lovely Thanksgiving card. The house was decorated for Fall and really made us feel that we were welcome. After arrival, Mary text me a list of recommendations for restaurants and attractions since this was our first visit to Lake Placid. She always let me know that she was available if i had any questions or issues. I cannot recommend this property enough...and i hope Mary truly realizes how much her personal touches make her guests feel welcomed when away from home. M

This house was everything we hoped for and more! Mary was such a wonderful host and put many personal touches in place for our stay. The welcome basket and fresh flowers were so lovely. We had an amazing and much needed relaxing weekend. A 10 ⭐️ experience, hands down!!

Wonderful Home

My family of ten had a wonderful stay at Mary’s home. The house was clean and accommodated the children and adults. We enjoyed the yard and dock with easy access to paddle boarding and kayaking on the lake. The walk to town was short and the youngest, at 5 years old had no problem walking to Main Street. We would absolutely stay here again!

Spacious Home by the Lake

We really enjoyed our stay in this thoughtfully appointed home. Plenty of room for our family to gather for a mini-reunion. We walked to downtown and were close to supermarkets and restaurants. Thanks for our gracious host for making the place feel like home for our visit.
