Disappointed in hotel

Family stay 2 nights. The pool and bar area are the best part of this hotel. Pool is lovely and children enjoyed time in the pool. The beach bar area has a great view and very relaxing. Unfortunately the rest of the hotel seems in need of care and attention. Reception area does not feel welcoming or friendly carpet is very dirty. Our family room was clean but had a funny smell when we arrived. No tea & coffee making facilities in room which was very disappointing each morning when I like a drink whilst getting ready. We did not take breakfast at the hotel so I can not comment on this maybe we would have been tempted if we had a breakfast menu in our room. On arrival check In was ok but on departure the receptionist did not really show any interest in us just pointed out the amount to pay which turned out to be more than my reservation stated. All In all great location but hotel is run down. I would not go back to this hotel or recommend it.

Best Holiday at the end of the season.

Superb hotel with a great front desk team. Any little issues we had was put right immediately. Also they spoke good English as my French is very poor. Rooms cleaned and refreshed every day when we went for breakfast. We had dinner the first night at the hotel then had dinner in the few restaurants that were open at the end of the season. The hotel car park does get full. However you can park on the street outside. We found the other residents to be extremely friendly.

Disappointing

Experience was not as nice as last year. No longer can you book a table on the beach for dinner- disappointing for special occasions. The restaurant menu seems to be set and doesn't vary nightly as before. The staff in the restaurant were disorganised & rude. We used the pool only once as the behaviour of some couples was far too intimate and extremely embarrassing to experience. Certainly not family orientated. Sea view rooms seem extremely small & we did not like a sheer curtain to our tiny shower room. Wardrobe and storeage space was extremely basic. There is no air conditioning lift facility hospitality tray or telephone to reception.

A very nice relaxing place to stay.

An excellent 3 night stay to celebrate our anniversary. The hotel from the outside very French but ultra modern rooms. Not a/c tho. Bathrooms were immaculate shower room with separate toilet.There is a lovely restaurant on the beach but advisable to book a table in the evenings. The food is superb and beautifully presented. Service on the last night was very disappointing but the head waitress made sure we were recompensed accordingly. There are No tea/coffee facilities in room and UK holidaymakers were disappointed no bar or drinks facilities available until 6 pm which was frustrating after a long hot journey. The pool is a great asset but unsupervised children can be a pain. A sole adults swim hour would have been a bonus. The little town of Ronce is delightful and the hotel is very close by. All in all a great stay with superb weather too.Will definately return.

Très bel hotel, mais....

Très bel hotel face à l’Ile d’Oléron avec piscine à débordements. Produits faits maison au petit dejeuner....dont le prix est exorbitant : 25€/personne ! Il manque en plus des fruits frais. Si vous ne voulez pas le buffet, vous avez droit à une boisson chaude et une viennoiserie,pas plus. Musique classique diffusée dans la salle, alors qu’on est au nord de l’Océan. Le parking est lui aussi payant : 20€ /nuit ! Dommage, nous ne reviendrons pas car les prix sont dignes de ceux de la Cote d’Azur !

Deception

Le cadre extérieur est très agréable et très beau. Mais cet hôtel a misé que sur cela. Au niveau du prix de la chambre, on s'attendait à beaucoup mieux: pas du tout fonctionnel, pas de volets et tringle à rideau mal fixée, pas de climatisation, petite télévision avec 6 chaînes, petite salle de bain avec WC à l'intérieur et cabine de douche... Les réceptionnistes sont très agréables à défaut de certains serveurs(ses), à peine eu le temps d'être servi pour le petit déjeuner (à la carte) que nous devons payer sur le champ. Côté piscine, endroit très agréable mais des serviettes blanches pas tachées seraient tout de même souhaitable et le bassin n'a pas été nettoyé en 5 jours (papiers, sable, pansements...). Conclusion: nous nous attendions à nettement mieux pour un soi-disant 3 étoiles. Ps: j'oubliais un petit détail: évitez de planter des arbres accompagné de 2 tractopelles au bord de la piscine toute la matinée, on était censé être là pour se détendre ! Nous ne reviendrons pas, c'est bien dommage au vu du cadre très sympathique.

A notre arrivée (pourtant après 15h) la chambre n'est pas prête et on nous accompagne aimablement au bar en nous invitant à consommer. La piscine n'est pas encore en service, contrairement à ce qui est indiqué sur le site Hotels.com. Elle est encore en travaux. Le personnel est aux petits soins, surtout pour faire gonfler la note. Le repas est bon, mais très cher (tarte aux fraises à 12 € pièce) Au moment du départ, on essaie de faire payer le parking, alors que ce n'est stipulé nulle part dans la réservation. Après un refus de ma part, expliquant que nous n'avons pas pu profiter de la piscine, l’hôtesse fait cadeau du parking. J'ai séjourné dans cet Hôtel avant le changement de propriétaire, et l'ambiance était un peu plus "familiale", on profitait d'un tarif au restaurant lorsqu'on séjournait à l'Hôtel. Je comprends qu'il faille rentabiliser les énormes investissements faits pour rajeunir le site, mais j'aurais apprécié plus d'authenticité.

Nous avons séjourné pour une nuit dans l’hôtel, le personnel était irréprochable, présent et à l’écoute. L’environnement est magnifique, l’hôtel est très bien situé mais tout est calme et ressourçant. Le restaurant était excellent, aussi bien pour le repas du soir que pour le petit déjeuné (buffet très copieux). De plus le cadre du restaurant est sublime.
