The hotel is set is lovely surroundings. Very peaceful and relaxing with nice pool area. Can’t comment on the food as restaurant was shut when we stayed - also very limited places to eat in local town on a Monday too.

Dinner has always been an important feature. The food was good apart from my wife’s fish main course which was overcooked and hard. Bed was hard and pillows uncomfortable.

We had a lovely stay at this property. There is great parking just outside. We were welcomed warmly and walked to our room. We arrived quite late but were advised we could still have dinner and were given some time to settle in and get back to the dining room. The service throughout the meal was lovely and friendly. The room was clean and quiet. The next morning, we had the breakfast which was also really good. Our checkout was quick. We had our dog and he was welcome everywhere which was really nice.

Return to the Sologne.

Idiyllic setting in the Sologne countryside with views over the lake and wide open grounds where a small herd of sheep graze peacefully through the day. Perfect overnight stop just off A20 en route north from the Dordogne. Return visit met expectations.

Too short a visit

An overnight stay in a setting where we would be happy for a week. Secluded lakeside retreat in delightful surroundings. No menu choice for dinner but we were warned in advance with details of what would be served and it was beautifully prepared. Air conditioning would have been welcome at 40+ but the fan helped.

Nice stay but some disappointing issues

This is a convenient stop over but I found that the reception area and restaurant smelled musty & damp .The bedroom is comfortable except for bath squashed into the bathroom space and no useful shower .In the past we have had excellent meals here but on this occasion,the tasting menu offered much but delivered little .

Very beautiful grounds with lake. Hotel was well appointed. Missed not having tea and coffee making facilities in room. Restaurant was top class and food was excellent. It was a pity we only stayed one night as it would have been good to explore the vast grounds around the hotel

Nice hotel but no showers.

Only one night at this resort-style hotel in the countryside. At the edge of a pond. Has its own herd of grazing animals. True to claim, very quiet. Rooms are large and comfortable. Be aware that rooms have only bathtubs with hand-held spray wands, no true showers. The restaurant is excellent.

Overnight stop- over

We arrived early afternoon after a most pleasant drive down from Calais. On arrival we were greeted by very pleasant and helpful staff who showed us to our room and explained all the facilities available to us Unfortunately due to our short stay of just 1 night we could not make use of the facilities but hopefully if we return. We will make sure to stay longer and explore the grounds etc.

Ved ankomsten er L'OrĂ©e des ChĂȘnes et sted hvor man tĂŠnker, at det bliver perfekt. OmrĂ„det er enormt lĂŠkkert, parklignende og med sĂž, pool, svaner, geder og flotte bygninger. DesvĂŠrre var komforten pĂ„ vĂŠrelset ikke god. Enkeltsengene er smalle, madrasserne meget blĂžde og puderne meget hĂžje. PĂ„ badevĂŠrelset hĂŠnger spejlet meget lavt, sĂ„ man ikke kan se sig selv (1,98 hĂžj bĂžr kunne bruge et normalt spejl). Brusebad foregĂ„r siddende i et badekar pĂ„ grund af skrĂ„vĂŠg og der er intet forhĂŠng. Ingen mulighed for aircondition, dog havde vi en ventilator. Personalet var flinke og rare. Morgenmaden var middelmĂ„dig. Udvalget var godt, smagen ikke sĂ„ god. Kaffemaskinen larmede meget, hver gang en gĂŠst brugte den og det tog lidt af freden. Det samme med trappen og gangbroen foran vĂŠrelserne. Med nogle ĂŠndringer hist og her, og lidt restaurering er der potentiale for et helt fantastisk sted.
