"A bit of a strange hotel, but overall a good stay. It’s very modern, although some of the design choices are a little baffling. For example, the light switches and blind controls are by the room entrance rather than next to the bed, which makes for an entertaining scramble around in the dark if you need to get up during the night! The rooftop pool is lovely and offers great views, but it’s quite exposed and, during busy periods, there aren’t nearly enough loungers or seats available. The beds are outstanding – huge and incredibly comfortable, making for a great night’s sleep. Parking can be an issue. It was full when we arrived (something I’d seen mentioned in other reviews), but the staff were very helpful, allowing us to park at the front of the hotel before moving the car into the car park once a space became available. Breakfast was excellent, with a huge variety of hot and cold options to suit all tastes. The buffet dinner, however, was disappointing. The choice was quite limited, particularly for vegetarians, and drinks have to be ordered from the waiting staff. Unfortunately, there didn’t seem to be enough staff on duty. On our second evening, no one came to ask if we wanted drinks at all. If you’re eating in the restaurant, you’re probably better off popping to the main bar and bringing your own drinks back. Overall, it’s a comfortable and stylish hotel with an excellent breakfast, but a few quirky design decisions and some service issues stop it from being 5*"
