When words fail...

Pros: everything
Cons: if they told me no, you can't go...
Location: For a special dim sum treat, with food as wonderful as the view, just between the hotel and the star ferry terminal you will find Serenade
... no, it's not often that I am at a loss for words. I've traveled around the world, both on business and for pleasure. And I've been to Hong Kong often visiting my parents when they were living there... but... to see that jewel of a city from the perspective of the Intercontinental, well, I will try. Your first hint of just how special a property you are staying it is simply walking from the front door to reception. Yes, the staff is impeccable, responsive, even intuitive. But even more dazzling is the vista spanning the entire width and height of the lobby. For right there is everything Hong Kong... Even checking in you realize you are in for a rare treat. And from there the grandness of the view is reflected in the luxuriousness of your surroundings. As you move through the wide and tastefully appointed hallways to your room you begin to sense the sophisticated ease of elegance that is the Intercontinental. And, when the valet opens the door to your room, and you immediately realize that this grand visage is now your private landscape, you get to experience the Hong Kong very few are blessed to do...

One of my favorites.

What can I say... Excellent hotel. Perfect angle for a great view of the Hong Kong side. Fantastic picture window. Beautiful room and fun lobby and bar. I've stayed there many times. I think I actually like it better than the Ritz.... Not as nice as the ritz but I think the skyline looks better from this angle than from so far up...

Superb!

Pros: Close restaurants, Free Internet, Quiet, security
In my experience, the Intercontinental Hotel, Hong Kong is the finest hotel in the world and I have travelled extensively. From the friendly greeting by the staff at the front door, to the kind and efficient staff behind the front desk, each time I return, I feel as I have re-discovered Shangri-la. The rooms are spacious, comfortable and very well appointed and with the killer views of Hong Kong Harbour and the the lights from the buildings on Hong Kong Island, it truly is paradise. The restaurants are all excellent and very varied and the Spa is world class. I cannot speak highly enough of this amazing oassis in the heart of a bustling metropolis.

Hong Kong Intercontinental

Great location and the service was impeccable. Lobby lounge, Harbor Side breakfast buffet and the Yon Toh Heen Restaurant were all the best. Views to die for! Great gym, pool, and hot tub area. Just bring plenty of cash.

One of my favorite hotel

After getting off a 14 hr plane ride from California, I was eager for a shower and check-in to my home away from home. This place looks great and th service is even better. It too the staff less than 5 minutes to check me in and walk me up to the room. My flight arrived at 6:00am and the staff did an early checking for me without having me wait for the normal checking time. The room is equipped with a large screen LCD TV, Bose sound system with iPod connection, internet connection, and a wall to wall view of the streets below and the pool diagonally across. While it does not have a fleet of Rolls-Royce Phantoms parked in front like the Peninsula across the street, it does not need it to be a high class establishment. The room is large, well decorated, modern, and clean. Nicely decorated marble bathroom and both a large tub and seperate shower stall is convenient. Hotel staff is prompt, courteous, and helpful. I might try a few other hotels on my next stay in Hong Kong but I hold them to the new benchmark set by the Intercontinental. \n\n
