Princeville Westin Kauai

Pros: Suite was fantastic - Great view of the mountains, ocean, and rolling golf course. Amenities supported everyday living. Wonderfully managed.
Cons: Pricing of items in the on site market needs to be displayed. Had to ask for pricing and was inconsistent with different clerks.
Location: North end is beautiful - but a little remote, need to drive 30 min. to avoid monopoly store and gas prices. Helicopter rides a must.
Great suite, friendly staff that make every effort to please and make you stay enjoyable. Beach access not on site, but there are 4 pools and numerous outdoor barque facilities. Local public beaches not too far away. Would definitely go back!

This is a resort with villas not a hotel.

Pros: The pools and grounds were immaculate and there was a very good restaurant on site.
Cons: We have many years experience with time share resort facilities and have never stayed at one that charged for parking as this one did.
Location: Beautiful location in Hawaii with many sites to visit.
It is a beautiful resort and our villa met our needs. We had a very enjoyable, relaxing stay.

Relaxing and beautiful place to stay

I wanted to stay in Princeville because it's the more lush side of Kauai in terms of vegetation. The Westin was elegant, clean, well-run, and the staff was completely obliging. The restaurant was quite good (even by my San Franciscan foodie standards) with excellent fish dishes. There is no beach to walk to, however, since it's a steep 600 ft. down a walking trail. Free shuttle service to this beach is available. I enjoyed a water aerobics class and the pools very much. This is a restful but not ostentatious hotel.

Best Vacation Ever!

Pros: Free Internet, Quiet
We had never been to Kauai before, but decided to go with the Westin due to their reputation. I'm glad we did. The hotel is on beautiful grounds and the staff is very friendly. We went with the one bedroom villa. Very big and the kitchen was really nice. Having a washer and dryer in the room was a biggie. They have a small beach area located just below the cliffs. You have to take a little trail to get down there. You can hop on a 5 minute shuttle ride over to the St. Regis which is what we did every time we wanted to hang out on the beach. It's beautiful there and well worth the short ride. We loved being on the North Shore. People warned us about rain, but it only rained one afternoon while we were there. We did the scuba lesson that's free at the Westin and then signed up for a dive. Best experience of my life. I highly recommend it. We also did the zip line at Princeville Ranch. Again, I highly recommend this. They have BBQ grills located throughout the property. We stopped at Costco when we first arrived and grabbed some grillables. The grills are really nice and they thoroughly clean them daily. This is a timeshare resort, but you honesty don't know who the guests or owners are. They do not push you to attend a timeshare meeting. They simply ask if you're interested when you meet your concierge. We are already planning our return trip to the Westin for next year.

Overall a good experience

Pros: Close restaurants, Free Internet, Quiet
Cons: no free breakfast
Hotel was good, although there were very few options for breakfast. I was surprised to find that they didn't offer free breakfast despite being pricey. But the room we were given was good though it was a little smaller that I expected. Ambiance was fine too

Pros: Close restaurants, Free Internet, Quiet
We were there without kids this time and found that it would have been perfect if we'd had them. the kitchenettes and full-size fridge are excellent, stocked with pots and pans, silverware, bbq utensils. Throughout the grounds there are BBQs that are nice!!! The pool for the kids has 2 turtle sculpture features and a slide--super fun looking. Our room overlooked the large grassy area where they have huts for massages or just for hanging out! We took the shuttle to the beautiful beach at the St Regis and played tennis at the nearby courts--$21 an hour or for $69 we got a whole months pass which pays for itself after 3 hours of play. The rooms were clean and staff were great. There's also a small beach that you can walk to --a path near the east parking lot leads you down there. Private and gorgeous. This is an excellent place to stay! Concierge services were fantastic as well. The restaurant is nice but pricey so we got food from the well-stocked market in the main building. Close to Hanalei bay, secret beach/tide pools, anini beach park, EVERYTHING on the north shore is so close.

I would definitely stay again.

Pros: Free Internet
We had a room that faced the parking lot....not a big deal since we were not in the room a lot. But, I would recommend another view if they have availability. It was nice to have a full kitchen and washer/dryer combo. I wouldn't recommend the $10 credit/waiver of cleaning services. You can only use one credit per day and only at the restaurant. It's not worth not having clean sheets and towels.
