The whole house and back yard are yours to use. There is a shed/studio at the front of the property that is not available to rent but may be used occasionally by other guests. Everything was in good order when we arrived. The home was great for us with all of the bedrooms and big dining table and upstairs family room with TV. We had our small dog with us and he felt quite at home there. It was interesting walking around the neighborhood.

Great last minute booking with friends. House accomodated a large booking, was clean and had everything we needed for our short stay - loved the upstairs area as a seperate hang for kids and backyard was big enough for a small cricket game. Hosts had great communication - needed gas for bbq and they were there within minutes. Great view, and super close to south bay walk around to seal colony. Would have loved an earlier check in as being 3pm - 10am felt very short staying only one night but otherwise a perfect stay.

We loved this place, so did our dog, it was great to have it fully fenced. From the little toilet paper flowers to the heat pump being turned on before we arrive, so it was so warm and toasty. We loved sitting upstairs watching the world go by. Being close to the sea was a plus. We will be back. Can't recommend this place enough.

Amazing Spot!

Loved our stay in South Bay! The house was perfect for our family of 5. Nice and quiet, and a stunning view from upstairs. Great view of the bay from up the hill behind the house. Plenty of heating to keep us warm in a cold Kaikoura southerly, and there were even some hottie bottles to warm up our beds. Good kitchen with everything we needed, and very good washing machine and dryer. Only 5mins drive or a 30min walk to the town centre. 5 min walk to the south end of the Kaikoura peninsula walkway. Might come back for a summer trip with our boat!
