"This was a very nice home right on Bass Lake. we started our day on the back porch sipping coffee and watching a muskrat in the lake. Bortell’s was a very short drive. Downtown Pentwater was very close. We drove and walked to a beach access point on Lake Michigan. Managing temperature in the house was very difficult, there is central heat and maybe a stand alone A/C unit. we were able to open windows to keep things cool part of the day, but in the heat of summer it might be tough to stay cool. We had all of the kitchen supplies we needed. Being able to store our bikes and kayaks in the garage was a great help. Plan to bring bottled water because there is a heavy mineral taste in the tap water. those same minerals left rust stains in the toilets. "

"The Great Escape was fully equipped with whatever we needed. It was clean and prepared with unexpected amenities that were helpful. Host was great and easily accessible, our group enjoyed the house and the ease of everything. 100% recommend! "

"This cute cottage was a conveniently located and nicely appointed. We stayed two nights and dined elsewhere, but the kitchen was well stocked with utensils and there was a grill and pizza oven in the backyard. Living area and bedrooms were also thoughtfully furnished. It would be a great spot for a longer stay. The only full bath is small and water temperature can change if someone uses the other bathroom-- not unusual for an older cottage. Backyard was a favorite for our dog, and like the house, the backyard had many nice features that would make a comfortable stay. Property manager was friendly and prompt in our interactions. "
