"The hotel is based in a beautiful villa on the moat just outside the city centre of Middelburg, a lovely location to spend a few days in. There is ample private parking, and our room, in the new extension, was tastefully decorated and well equipped. The spacious bathroom had a bath and shower. The continental breakfast buffet was excellent. We would have liked an outside light to enjoy the patio in the evening and the switch for the central light was in the corridor. These small gripes won't stop us returning and we highly recommend a stay here."

"This is a gem! Fantastic value for money as far as I am concerned. Beautiful room, great restaurant menu and on Saturday they have a DJ liven up their cocktail bar. Free parking on sundays, easy parking in the near vincinity. They welcome pets for a reasonable fee and the staff was super welcoming. They have recently opened and are super aware of some minor issues, but they adrewsed them perfectly. I also found out that De Bij, in the past, was called De Mug, which was my elderly mum’s favorite hangout. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will definitely return! "
