The property is conveniently located in a nice neighborhood, with easy access to the PATH trains taking you to Manhattan. That's the only positive thing about it.
The rest of it was an absolute disaster!!! The couch you see in the photos is broken. It sits in the middle of the room as a bed. It only holds its back in the picture because it is against a very old AC unit mounted inside a window.
There is no storage at all, except for a couple of sorry-looking coat hangers by the entrance.
The faucet in the kitchen is loose.
There were piles of garbage outside the door.
But the worst of it was the temperature. When I arrived, it was 53 F in the main room, and 37 F in the bathroom. The main "steam boiler" unit is very old and did not work. They have local electric wall heaters that help with a few square feet around them. Every window and door has a draft. There is no weather stripping at all that I could see.
The bathroom is especially horrid. It is built outside the main wall, with a door leading to the back patio. The wall heater there barely heated the space to 48 F. I could not take a shower or even brush my teeth in that temperature. You are basically outside...
I planned to stay for four nights. I left after two nights, due to the unsafe conditions. I told the owner that I would request a partial refund. They have refused to issue it. Vrbo Support was not of any help, basically just passing messages between the parties. Never again!
