The hotel is great. It has a lot to offer. We noticed though that the hotel itself is dirty. The pool area concrete looks black in areas and you can actually see footprints. The grass carpet looks like it should be vacuumed or something. Cushions look really worn. The carpet in the bar has areas where the carpet has been worn down to nothing. We ate at the restaurant by the pool one night and it was bad. I had the chicken wrap and it was like the chicken came out of a can and my husband had the oysters, which he said were awful. it costs as much as a very good restaurant we went to in Ponte Vedra Beach where we got a awesome dinner! We went bikeriding and we couldn't find the trails. None of them were marked. So finally after trying to figure it out we just started going down areas and finally found our way around.

Great location. Felt like they "nickeled and dimed" too much for guests staying at resort.

Overall, the 3 night stay at the Omni Amelia Island Plantation Resort was fine, not extraordinary, but ok. I think that, for the price, the hotel is on point. If you are looking for a nice place to stay, without exemplary service or amenities, this is the place. If you are looking for outstanding guest service and not have to pay extra for everything, stay at a five star hotel. The food here was very good and for the most part, the staff was friendly. The room cleanliness was questionable in that the room had not been vacuumed or swept (unacceptable), even with leaving a substantial daily tip for the cleaning service. You must pay extra if you want a beach umbrella and the chairs are right next to one another, not leaving room for privacy. The pool was crowded and could be noisy with many children as was the dinner at the Oceanside restaurant - very loud, but the food saved the evening.

The hotel was much bigger and nicer than expected.

Everything that you could want is on the resort and there is a shuttle to take you to different parts of the resorts. If you choose to leave the resort there are lots of other things to do in town.

The overall property was excellent for amenities

Pros: Pools, beach front, staff and front desk.
Cons: Limited entertainment, move outside upholstered seats under overhang and non-upholstered seating exposed to weather.
Location: Fernadina Beach has excellent restaurants and some good beach bars
We specifically appreciated the assistance from Horace Head (Front Desk Agent) who went above and beyond to change our room and offer a complimentary coffee. The restaurants and golf courses on site were also excellent. They also had a variety of shops, golf cart rentals, biking, fishing and the property grounds were very attractive.

Not the best amenities

Pros: The lobby was inviting and the pool area was well maintained. The Oceanside restaurant was very well run and the food was amazing
Cons: Rooms need updating badly
Location: Not much to do outside of resort which is massive. If you don't golf or swim you are out of luck
The hotel is located very well. Close to beach. However, you must pay $30 USD to use the beach umbrella and $120 for canopy. Ridiculous I thought. The room was run down. Furniture and fixtures were more like a Motel 6 than a "resort". The bathroom tub/shower was dodgy. I put a towel down on the tub surface before getting in for a shower. The tap water has a foul odor, and bottled water was available in the room for $6 USD!!! The television was from the 80's and kept bit mapping the reception and the beds were mattress and box spring and mushy.

Beautiful Beach, Southern Hospitality

Lovely views from the resturants and rooms, only negative was the bath tub had no grab bar. The staff is great! Carol that waited on us was from Jamaica and so pleasant, Nick that carried our bags down was so kind and took time to take pictures for us! Southern hospitality at it's best!

very nice,Beach front resort,Manicured grounds,Great food.Awsome pools.Nice shops on the resort.the only negative we be the resort monopoly on the prices of food and drinks.Example would be 2 double gin & tonics $50 with tip.Pretty excessive! They offered no ride or shuttles off the resort to get our own food and drinks, even though they had Lincoln navigators trucks on the lot.Wonder what there for???

Beautiful Room, but far from the Beach

Pros: Comfy bed, nice amenities, a pool almost to ourselves (at the Villa), W/D in room, separate shower with a whirlpool tub, granite counters, tile floors
Cons: The TV was from 1980 and was grossly outdated. For the updates in the room, I expected at least a nice wall-mounted TV in the Living room.
Location: Nice beach (but far from the Villa), bikes, segways, horseback riding, great restaurants and fun shopping at Amelia Island downtown.
I booked an Oceanview room and ended up with a Villa overlooking the street. The room was nice, but not what i was expecting considering the price I paid. Once i checked in, I was too tired to make stink about it. I also paid for the breakfast, but it was at the main hotel and I was 2 miles down the street so it wasn't convenient enough to bother.

Omni Lacks Luxury

Pros: The access to the beach.
Cons: The hotel room was very disappointing. Please refer to my experience above. The bathroom was totally unacceptable. it reminded me of a Motel 6.
Location: We were unable to do the Segway tour--very disappointing. And there was no night life or clubs anywhere nearby.
What I think of Omni, I think of luxury. The room at the Omni Hotel at Amelia Island Plantation was very disappointing. Although our view was great, the room was sadly dated. The bathroom was tiny and only had a door separating the toilet/shower from the sink area. When using the sink, the light would shine and wake whomever was still asleep. The tub was reminiscent of a Motel 6. It was tiny and had brown stains where people had stood. The shower curtain was a plastic liner with a cloth overlay. The toilet was literally a few inches away from the shower. I expected something much more luxurious. When I approached Jordan at registration asking for a better room, he gave us another room exactly like the we had. When we said it was not acceptable, he said he couldn't help us. He also said to come back the next day and he would see what he could do. Since we had to unpack toiletries, we just stayed in the room for the duration of our stay. The staff were not as friendly as I expected. Overall, I would not recommend or return.
