I liked almost everything about this hotel, except there were a few areas that needed updating like the cabins. But I had one big problem with the front desk manager, Kim. After staying 5 nights, I asked her if my husband and I could use the pool for a short while after checkout. She refused . That courtesy had always been extended with all hotels we had stayed in the past. I reminded her that the pool was never crowded and we wouldn't be taking up the place of a current registered guest. She still refused. Then she said the pool was closed for maintenance. Why didn't she say that at the beginning of our conversation.? However my husband went toward the pool and spoke to the engineer who told him the pool was fine for use. They were working on the hot tub. I have to say she was the only staff member that was so rude. Everyone else was very helpful

No hot water in the morning

No hot water for showers in the morning and they said to contact Hotels.com for a refund. They could not help me either. Since it was only one night we had to leave on our journey. Also the bathroom paint was chipped off most everywhere. Some maintenance needs to be done.

So close to everything needed. Parking was great as right outside our cabin. Staff friendly. Breakfast was good. Room overall was good just needs some new carpet and general updating. Plus front door loose/gap-informed staff so hopefully will fix. Overall good experience and would stay again!

Never sleep at Elk Country Inn

We arrive at 10pm. There was no light on the exterior parking. At the desk the employee was not sympathetic. It was difficult to find our cabin in the night but when I ask the employee to help us she just answered "it's easy to find. You don't need help". When we found our cabin Deluxe (I don't know how it can be called Deluxe), we discovered a little and dirty cabin. For 500 usd! We should be refund!

Main building where you check in and get breakfast is beautiful. Cookies and hot chocolate in the evening is a good touch. Our room was a bit dated. We could hear every movement in the room above us. (Very squeaky floors.) Also, liked the location alot.
