This hotel was clean and the staff were very nice and helpful. The only reason I’m giving a 4 stars on some is because my room didn’t have hot water. It was only warm. I did let the front desk know and they said they would have someone follow up. Otherwise the room was very nice.

The good….The room was spacious. Staff friendly. Lobby/hallways clean. The not so good..Trash cans overflowing outside front doors. I mentioned twice at desk. Key cards had to be changed three times in four days. Trash in room never dumped. Mattress on pull out couch needs to be replaced. Not happy about paying to park nightly yet they say not responsible for damages.

Overall, it was fine. Specifically, I was disappointed to discover this hotel charges $10 a night for parking, and $10 for breakfast. This is in addition to the $40 charge added to your cost for the taxes and fees assessed by the city of Durango. My $217 room wasn't as good a deal as I thought it would be. The toilet in my room had a disgusting urine/feces residue left on the front of the toilet, right on the front. It was OBVIOUS as soon as i walked into the bathroom. There was also a hairball in the bathtub when I arrived. The toiletries in the shower have a tamper resistant rack that prevents guests from messing with the products. The rack was unlocked and the metal bracket fell off and whacked me in the foot during my shower. I didn't use the provided shampoo and conditioner since the bottles have obviously been accessible and could have been contaminated by prior guests. The headboard on my bed had a substantial layer of dust on top of it. It wasn't just missed by houskeeping between guests. It appeared to have been untouched and collecting dust for a long time. I come to Durango at least six times a year for business and have stayed in most of the hotels in town. This hotel is the only one that has ever charged me for parking. Find another hotel.

Everyone was so nice. The only issue we had was the 18 wheelers and buses took up most of the parking, by taking up multiple spaces per vehicle. Other than that. It was a good stay.
