Stay in the Rockies 1.3 miles to I-70 .5 Miles to Hotsprings 25 mins to Redrocks

20% off coupon to liquid descent upon booking! This cabin sits on a 5-acre lot which is bordered by national forest on three sides. The deck offers panoramic mountain views. Deer, fox, bear, and lions are present here. The house is located towards the bottom of Soda Creek Road. Idaho Springs and the Indian Hot springs are a two-minute drive away. Feel deep in the woods while being only 1 mile from i70. This is the perfect central location to Red Rocks, Denver, ski mountains, and Rocky Mountain National Park. Wi-Fi speed 300mgps w/ 5 devices. My dedicated workspace has always been the kitchen island.

This mountain cabin aka the Soda Creek Lookout offers a .9-mile drive to miner street in Idaho springs, while having the feel of being deep in the Rockies. I70 is 1.3 miles away, the exit on i70 for the home is exit 241. Amazingly there is no highway noise. Wildlife can be seen on the mountain across the valley in the early morning and evening. Deer can be seen in the backyard if you are up early! They rarely come in the afternoon. The fox is nearby but elusive, consider yourself lucky if you see him. The hummingbirds are very active here from early May - late August. The hummingbirds love to zip around near the deck and keep an eye on the activity of the house. The deck offers panoramic views. Most months of the year, the babbling creek of soda creek road is heard in the near distance.

There are two entrances on the deck which will be your entrances. The deck wraps around from the front door to the side of the cabin where double doors lead into the kitchen. Off the back deck is a large grassy area, a propane grill, and charcoal (no charcoal provided). Feel free to explore the property as it borders thousands of acres of national forest on 3 sides. An old mine can be found through the woods about 100 feet from the property border.

The cabin is stocked with a wide array of appliances, kitchen essentials, spices, etc. Please help yourself to anything in the fridge or pantry.

The cabin consists of three bedrooms and two baths w/ a large living room / kitchen.

When you walk in the front door you enter the kitchen / living room. This is one large room equipped with a wood burning stove, bar seating at the island, Bluetooth POLK audio system with a subwoofer, smart tv on an adjustable mount for viewing on the couch, a kitchen fully equipped for cooking, pantry, 5-gallon water dispenser, and a large 6’ x 4’ concrete kitchen island.

All beds have brand name high quality mattresses, comfortable sheets and duvet covers for the comforters. We emphasize the importance of sleep so you can better enjoy your vacation. Fans are located in the closets.

The master bedroom boasts a walk in closet and private bath with a king bed. A TV equipped with Roku is provided.

The second bedroom is equipped with a queen bed and smart Roku tv.

The third bedroom has a queen bed and a television equipped with Roku.

The couch in the kitchen slides out into a queen-sized bed. There are additional sheets in the linen closet upstairs or in the chase of the couch.

The Soda Creek Lookout is situated on the side of a very large mountain. Idaho springs is very dry but if there is snow in the area you will need Awd or 4x4 to get up the driveway. Just ask about the conditions and I will promptly answer. The driveway is steep and hits a switchback which brings you up to the cabin. If you have trouble getting up the driveway there is a lot at the bottom of the driveway, on the right-hand side, which can accommodate about 3 cars.

Sorry but no washer / dryer and you will not have access to the basement. There is a laundromat in town if needed.

Great views great spot!
1st make sure if you bring a trailer park it at the bottom. Hills not bad but when wet or snowy it gets slick. Great house and views. Beautiful kitchen and well finished. Love to come back. Host answers his phone.

Great views!
Great cabin to spend a few or alot of days on vacation. We liked the view on the mornings. No neighbors close by was a plus for us. The host responded very quickly when we had an issue putting the code in. I will choose this place again if available when we visit Colorado again. The Idaho Springs towns it's super close by, it has very good local food places. Hint* You got to try Big B's Soup and Grilled Cheese!!

Beautiful views and cozy place
We really enjoyed our stay. The house was very nice and the views were beautiful. Also, it’s close to town, but you don’t feel like it when you look outside. So that is very handy. The only thing I would note, is that you truly need a 4 wheel drive vehicle to get up the incline to the house when it’s snowy out. (The host was not joking about that one.) Also, the host was easy to reach and quite friendly, I highly recommend staying at this lovely mountain home.

Short, but sweet stay
We were in Idaho Springs for a destination wedding. We enjoyed the beautiful scenery of the mountains. This place was located in the perfect place for us, a 4 min drive to town, and peacefully located in the mountains. Our children, 24, 22, 21, and 19 enjoyed hiking up the mountain, literally at the back door. The place is stocked with all that is needed for a home away from home!!
