The cabin itself is, of course, lovely, as you can tell from the pictures. The additional draw for this rental is the onsite amenities. Down the hill from the cabin is the lake and a trail system that winds through the property. We found this trail system perfect for our morning runs. As a couple of avid runners who go to Hot Springs a couple of times a year, it is hard to find rentals with good nearby running. This trail system allowed us to enjoy being out in nature for our run on relatively flat terrain without fearing for attack dogs (pretty ubiquitous in Hot Springs in our experience) or unaware drivers. Additionally, along the trail there are a number of further amenities including a boat launch with kayaks, paddle boards, and a pedal boat; a swimming dock (on which we did morning yoga one day); numerous places to sit and relax including a hammock in a shady area; and a badminton/volleyball court with equipment. We availed ourselves of all of these amenities and felt it was a huge value-added element to this rental. Also, I assume because of the owners' ample surrounding land, this place was quite quiet and peaceful. We enjoyed listening to just birds and not speed boats out on the deck each morning and evening. All in all, it was kind of like being at a very laid-back, unassuming, welcoming, private resort. If any of that sounds like your thing, definitely give this place a try.
