The first complaint involved no tv working in master and another disconnected one on the floor. There were two half rolls of toilet paper in the in it for a stay for 6 adults 4 nights. We then had a SECOND complaint. While we were out at the beach, a person claiming to be a realtor unlocked the door and entered on their own and saw my daughter and asked to show the unit. Fortunately my daughter said no. This is NOT acceptable. Obviously they are selling as it is listed on Zillow and may not care less about their rating. I previously complained as the TV is inoperative. Maintenance was to be contacted and never was called by owner. They have a TV sitting in the room on the floor, WHY? Not but a half roll of toilet paper in each bathroom for a stay of 6 adults? Two trash bags in entire unit? A dirty carpet we had to roll up an put in a closet because it was disgusting. We were deceived by the description on line and photos. The photos are deceiving to the condition. The place is worn out and not to a decent standard for people to pay to stay on a vacation. The views of the beach from the unit are not the same as the ones on line not even close. The only redeeming quality is it is near the beach . And no, the host is not responsive whatsoever. Once you get into the unit you’re own. They only responded and acknowledge a TV issue but no other response.

This was the worse space we've ever stayed in. When we walked in the smell was really bad. It was an over powering musty meldew smell. We bought air fresheners to place throughout the space. It helped a little. The unit was really outdated. Neither the oven nor the cooktop worked. The icemaker was broken. There was dirt on the floors. We contracted the owner to let him know how disappointed we were. He sent someone out the next day to look at the stove, but it wasn't fixed. We had no way to cook the food we bought. It was the first time in the 10 plus years that we've vacationed in Hilton Head that we've had a place like this one. So disappointed!!! I will be paying attention to the reviews before renting a space from now on.

Musty, rusty and dusty

We have been staying at HHI Beach and Tennis for over 20 years in a variety of units. This was the worst. I choose a unit specifically so I can sit on the balcony and read, enjoy my coffee and see the ocean. This balcony was filthy. Dirt on the floor, furniture had black dust all over it that would require work to clean off. Very disappointing! Whole condo unit smelled musty. Vents were dusty. All cabinets and baseboards had a layer of dust. Primary bed was comfortable, twin beds were not. Primary shower was very old and had visible black mold but new doors and faucets. Primary vanity was falling apart but had a new faucet. Second bathroom had a noisy shower and toilet and we found a bag of pills in the vanity. It was updated. Kitchen was dirty, cabinets had spills running down them that hadn’t been cleaned. Inside the fridge was clean but the vent at the bottom was covered in something brown and the seal around the door had mold. Couches were extremely uncomfortable. We didn’t use the pull out bed portion. Two doorknobs were problematic. The one in the second bath would not open from the inside at times. The knob on the front door to the unit would not turn on our last day and we were effectively stuck in the unit. Took 10 minutes of work to get it to open. Bedroom windows are boarded over so they are not an exit option. Owner did not respond to message when we were locked in and still has not responded.Our 2 stars are for the resort itself.

I wish I could give our vacation a 5 star review but once we checked into the unit, we encountered many issues. -First, there was an overwhelming musty smell throughout the condo. No obvious effort to mitigate the smell had been made therefore we had to purchase odor eliminators. -Next, there weren't any sheets provided for the sofa bed so we had to go out and buy a set of sheets. -The listing also mentioned that towels were provided however only bath towels were provided so we had to purchase beach towels as well. -The listing showed that beach chairs were provided. A photo showed at least 5 chairs for use, however there were only 2 rusty/torn beach chairs and a camping chair that was not usable. Luckily, the resort had beach chairs for us to rent but this was another added expense.-Another inconvenience was that laundry was not listed as a resort amenity. There was coin-operated laundry just steps from our condo door.-2 women showed up unannounced to fix a problem with the dishwasher. We were not informed of this issue but it was fixed during their visit.-Lastly, the cleaners did a terrible job. There was a coating of dust on every surface and food under the beds. Aside from all of these inconveniences and additional expenses, the condo was in a great location and had a great set up for our family. The owner never responded to my messages during our stay. Beware of booking this condo unless changes are made by the owner.

Dirty Condo

The condo was not very clean! The floors and furniture were dusty, the walls were in need of a coat of paint, the ceiling fans were filthy, the balcony furniture was dirty, the kitchen cabinets were a mess with opened food inside, and the bedding smelled like mildew. Also the hallway to the door smelled like mildew. The weather was amazing and our overall stay in Hilton head was great.

We have a great time and we enjoyed our stay , a few problems but that’s normal and the Host is fast and very helpful. The cleaning crew could do a better job the Host made it right and we will be staying again.. view is good ,smack pool is right beside the condo so it was good for after dinner for the kids

Nice condo for a weekend getaway

Condo complex is a little dated, but that doesn't bother me as long as it's clean. A little dusty, especially the vents and under furniture, but overall clean. Good communication from owner. Only includes one parking pass (have to pay $35 for an extra pass), which was a bummer, but not a deal breaker.

Great location

Wonderful long weekend to celebrate New Year 2024. Short walk to the beach and within walking distance to Sports Bar and restaurant. Friendly staff and 24 hour security. Lovely ocean view from balcony. We’ll definitely stay here again

Great location but unit was not to my cleanliness standards

Unit location was excellent. Very short walk to the beach. The unit reeked of cigarette smoke and was supposed to be a no smoking unit. The unit was very basic and could really use a renovation. I have used VRBO many times and I always appreciate owners that do extra things to make your stay more enjoyable. There was none of that with this unit.

Get away at the beach

Good beach location, access to the beach was very good. Good beach view from one end of the balcony. Needs work on the master bath shower floor and deep cleaning. The resort had several restaurants on site that were good, like Coconut Sports Bar and Jamaica Joe'z Beach Bar.

Owner doesn't stay on top of what's going on with property

The elevator was not working! I sent message to owner. She didn't reply till I got home! We were on 3rd floor. Owner should have called complex and checked on elevator, and advised us, she didn't. Carrying large full cooler/luggage up over 41 steps was awful. Bathroom shower in master room needed a really good cleaning mold every where. Carpets in bedrooms were dirty. This building was right beside public beach access which makes beach area crowded. Positive note kitchen was well equipped and couches were clean.

Pre hurricane vacation

We were only a party of 2 but we enjoyed the extra space that the 2Br unit provided for the price. Long balcony was great for the ocean view and it was an easy walk to beach and pool . Parking convenient to entry & unit. Owner was accessible and quick to respond. Pillows and showers could use some updating. Living areas were comfortable and clean. Ocean was pleasantly warm for the time of year, unfortunately our trip was cut short due to impending storm!

RELAXING, CONVENIENT, SAFE, ENJOYABLE!!

Admiral's Row is THE place for our family of four. Honestly, I'd be stretching to have any complaints about this unit and the property manager. Everything was as expected, and very pleasant. You will truly enjoy your beach vacation with this unit. We have young twins, and this is the second time we've stayed in this part of the resort. We chose this resort twice during COVID, because it is safe, and we just needed to get on the beach quickly. The walking distance is so short and so quick, that we hardly had to bring anything to the beach! The unit is so close to the smaller pool on the resort, and our kids preferred it over the beach some days! The resort staff were really friendly, and the owner of this property was very professional in their communication. Property was updated moreso than the last Admiral's Row property we stayed in, and the kitchen had all the utensils you would need. The water pressure in this unit was AMAZING. When we travel, we love a good hot shower and strong water pressure, and literally this was a huge plus. (Trust me, I've travelled to some places with the worst water pressure, or cold water only, and it makes taking a shower unbearable.) We liked that this unit is close to the elevator, stairs, and laundry facility. In case this is helpful for others, the laundry cost $3.00 in coins for the wash, and $3.00 in coins for the dryer. Other fun parts of the stay, we watched a small alligator in the retention pond outside of the unit swim around, and the birds were nice to sit an watch from the balcony patio. Helpful tips for the next renter... which is not a complaint of this unit - AT ALL, just some tips for anyone staying here that is a picky traveller..... 1) We could not find a recycling bin at the complex 2) As a picky pillow person, I'd bring my own pillows... 3) bring your own shampoo / conditioner / soap 4) if your family uses a lot of toilet paper, bring an extra roll for a long stay, and 4) if you like stronger paper towels, then bring your own roll. Overall, a top place our family has rented for vacation. Would certainly come back again year after year. Thank you Wani!!
