The Space

Max guest 8 average size people (book 1 to 4 of my guesthouses for larger parties, right next door (on the same lot)). You can book all four of our guesthouses for family reunions, school reunions, and wedding parties! We do have a damage deposit but don't tie up your money (no charges or authorizations will be held).

House of Faith, private cottage is newly renovated 2 bedroom house sleeps 8. Has fully equipped kitchen, Dining room, 1 bath, 3 flat screen TVs, Washer & Dryer! Plenty of outdoor space to enjoy with seating! Set in great family neighborhood.

The Space

House of Faith (House #302)

This private cottage is newly-renovated two bedroom house sleeping for six to eight comfortably (3 full beds sleeps 6 (sleeping for 2 on extra long daybed couches)). Fully equipped kitchen, flat screen televisions in the living room and bedrooms, with dining area, freshly-laundered towels and bedding, and central heat and air makes staying in the charming House of Faith perfect for singles, couples, and large families.

House rules: No smoking! Children under 18 years of age must be attended by an adult at all times!

Guest Access

Please make yourself at home and use whatever we have available. Including outdoor space front/back porch and garden area. We also can stock guesthouse at guest request (with wine, food, ice cream, etc.,) ... Guest can request this service once house is booked via email (fees apply)...

We are semi locals (we have a groundskeeper on call that lives near by). We would love to advise you on how to really enjoy this town!

The Neighborhood

Vela’s Villa, House of Faith is part of a private little neighborhood within a neighborhood–a group of four houses sharing the same lot, located a block away from historic Harlan, Kentucky’s downtown. Nestled in a valley in the ancient and enchanted Appalachian Mountains. Great walking community!!

Getting around

You can walk to a few local restaurants, the river and parks! This house is great because you are in a very rural area, but you are within two blocks of historical downtown Harlan. So you get the quaint town experience with out being isolated.

Other Things to Note

Make sure you BYOB because this town is Moist (semi dry (although alcohol is legal to have and consume alcohol within your private dwelling)). Two restaurant currently serve alcohol The Portal (pizzeria) and Ken & Paul's Family Steakhouse. Moist defined: with regard to the sale of alcohol, Harlan is classified as a moist county—a county in which alcohol sales are prohibited (a dry county), but containing a 'wet' city, in this case Cumberland and Lynch, where package alcohol sales are allowed. In the city of Harlan, restaurants seating 100+ may serve alcoholic beverages.

Nice place to start from in the morning and return to after spending the day on a mountain.
I was very pleased with the hospitality, having a wash room to use, and great kitchen, too. Could relax a little watching streaming channels, too.
