This house was perfect! Exactly as described! Great communication, easy check-in, and super clean. We had everything we needed and then some! The sand on the private beach was soft and the water was great for swimming. We went crabbing off the back dock and watched the waves from the front fire pit. Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful home. We hope to be able to visit again!

A lovely beach cottage w allĺ emenities. THE SMALL BEACH PROVIDES THE ACCESS TO THE WATER AND LEGIT BEACH ACCESS. THE ONLY NEHATIVE IS TGE NEIGHBOR TO THE RIGHT WHEN FACING THE BEACH. Thet are extremely terrible. My friend that shared the homece me visited what we thought the beach was for all beach properties. But, it was not and devided among the ywo properties. My friend wentvon tge beach to gather trash and glass from the entire beach but the territorial neighbor made a big deal we were on their property. This was very concering and uncalled for plus made our stay unpleasant at this point. I immediately wanted nothing to do w them and my defensive armour came out. We definietly avoided them and keptvto ourself. I have a difficultvtime w disrespectful people. But overall a great place to stay but keep dogs, children and others off of their property and beach. Clean and very positive stay.

The house and beach are just as pictured! The beach is absolutely beautiful. The neighborhood is quiet and the speed limit is under 10 so it’s safe for littles and pets. I would definitely recommend this rental and will be back myself!

Family trip on the bay

Such a great house! The house was clean and cozy and a lovely space to spend a week together on vacation. We LOVED that we could bring our dog. The beach out front was so convenient and we enjoyed swimming and finding treasures on the beach. The back dock was great too, we went kayaking several times and the kids loved crabbing off the dock. The house was so beautifully decorated and inviting. My husband read two of the MANY books the house is full of during the week. We cooked amazing seafood in the kitchen and enjoyed family meals around the table. We got to see several pods of dolphins swim by the house and an osprey couple in a nest on the roof of the house across the street. A quiet neighborhood. The only thing we wished they had was an outdoor shower, but the provided hose did the job. We hope to be back again to this quiet relaxing spot on the bay.

Cute beach cottage

Nice property with a private little beach which was perfect for enjoying the view and catching some sun. Did see dolphins almost daily and lots of birds. A plus that pets are allowed. My one dog loved the water the other not so much. House had everything you could need as well as extras like bikes and kayaks. Tons of books throughout the house and I’m an avid reader and was happy to find a classic, Animal Farm, to read during the mornings enjoying some coffee in the sunroom. The beds and furniture in the living room were very comfy. We visited Matthews, Deltaville and Yorktown. Matthews has some cute little shops. Too many other places to see in just a few days. So maybe next time.

Will return, great location

We particularly enjoyed the beachfront location, it made our multiple trips to the water so much easier. We made use of the fire pit, the beach, and the kayaks. It was nice not to have to haul our personal kayaks across the state! We did choose to bring our own bikes, and life jackets. We saw dolphin, kayaked with some skates, saw a pair of bald eagles and of course the resident ospreys. I’m a big fan of their ac system, as you can choose the temp for each room individually. I also found the combination lock doorknob to be super convenient. I would definitely return.

A Week On Island Time

This was our 2nd trip to Gwynn's Island, but our first at this property. If we return,we will certainly try to stay here again. Having a private beach in front and a dock in the back gave us plenty to do all week. We fished and swam everyday and even caught a few Blue Crabs from the dock. We wanted a relaxing vacation and thats what we got. We traveled to Colonial Williamsburg on Monday with the chance of going to the Jamestown Settlement and Yorktown Museum other days, but decided to stay on the island because we all enjoyed the beach so much. Grocery shopping and other antique/thrift shops were close enough and several good restaurants within a 10 minute drive. The owners were very nice and the house was well equipped. Even had kayaks and bicycles! Book with confidence!

Cozy beach getaway

The description of this home piqued our interest--who wouldn't love a beach house filled with books? The home was thoughtfully appointed with everything needed for a week away. There were many kindly provided amenities (think of those pantry and bathroom items you sometimes forget to pack). The home is located in a small community on Gwynn's Island. The neighbors all gave a friendly wave and we were visited by a few neighborhood dogs as well. The private beach is just across the small road. We spent several sunny days enjoying the waves and searching for beach treasures. We didn't mind the few rainy spells we had because so many books, games, and cozy blankets were provided for our use. This is not the biggest house on the beach, but it's carefully furnished to provide several different living/seating areas, giving everyone room to gather together or find a space alone. It was the perfect size for our group (4 adults and 1 little dog). My favorite spot was the sunroom, where I drank my morning tea, watching the sunrise and listening to the waves.Communication with the hosts was terrific. They proactively sent messages regarding our stay, and responded promptly when we had questions. They messaged us when the house was ready and offered us early check-in. They left a notebook with tips about the house and the area. We spent a wonderful Saturday at the library sale (more books!), farmers market, and local museums.

Fantastic Stay at this Beach Cottage!

We had an amazing time at this charming beach cottage. The location was perfect, just a short walk to a beautiful, quiet beach where we spent hours collecting sea glass. Our dogs were also welcome, which made our stay even more special! The neighborhood was peaceful, and the neighbors were friendly, adding to the relaxed, community feel of the area. The owner was excellent in communicating with us, always quick to respond and very helpful with any questions we had. One of the highlights of our trip was dining at Hole in the Wall, an awesome restaurant on the island with great food and atmosphere. We couldn't have asked for a better vacation and can’t wait to return!

Gwynn Island Gem

A dreamy eastern shore beach community, where I felt like I had returned to the past, with the exception of all the modern amenities and comforts. Perfect for my varied interest family of six, we beached, swam, biked, kayaked, fished (sort of :), and a lot of the time just sat there soaking up the amazing view on our own little private slice of heaven. Family dinners and movie nights in the evening around a backdrop of classic beach cottage. The host were very accommodating and gracious with our needs. The property vibe was inviting, comfy, and was well apportioned with all the little extra odds and ends. Clearly, time and thought was put in to the guest experience from bookworm to sportster and everywhere in between. Thank you and we hope to see you next year.

Romantic 50th anniversary stay

An island getaway for our 50th anniversary- perfect ! Our gracious hosts allowed us to check in early and to our amazement they even had an anniversary card with a bottle of champagne waiting for us. The weather was stormy on arrival, watching the ocean was amazing as we cuddled up. We caught crabs off the dock and the crab boil was delicious. We brought Mahi at the local seafood market and grilled it, just like we had on our honeymoon. Beautiful for walks and biking. My daughter and family joined us for the weekend. My 14yo granddaughter wanted to take the loft bedroom home. The decor was beachy and fun. Comfortable furnishings. What a selection of books too!! The hosts supplied a lot of unexpected niceties. We would love to return, really enjoyed the cabin and the area. was stormy the beginning

Peaceful retreat

There were no surprises with this location. It was exactly as stated. It was very clean and well kept. The location is tremendous. If you love nature and a peaceful environment you could not ask for anything better. The house was a typical beach house and very eclectic on the inside which was adorable. I brought 5 books with me and I didn't need them at all. There were hundreds of best sellers everywhere. I did read my books but I was able to get two in from the house while we were there. We would definitely come back to this house again.

Beautiful Beachside Retreat

We had a wonderful week at Nabors on the Bay. The house was the best vrbo rental we've ever had. It was accurately described and thoughtfully outfitted and decorated. The rental was spotless and the kitchen and bathroom were both completely functional. The island is pretty small and not remote, but removed. Having access to the private beach was great and we saw dolphins twice. The shed is outfitted with bikes and kayak gear for your adventuring needs. Jen and Kevin were responsive the entire time, including when I had a bit of a panic attack over having no cell reception to get the access about an hour out from arrival. They were able to text us the code and we were able to use the wifi for phone needs afterwards. Jen was even good enough to text us about things we left behind. This is a beautiful spot for family vacation and to just unplug.

A nice cottage with a wonderful beach

We had a perfect quiet beach vacation. The water was wonderful. Private beach. Warm and quiet water, like a lake, sometimes with small waves. We enjoyed swimming and playing on the beach. Saw a group of dolphins, crabs, a great blue heron. The cottage as described. A quiet, nice, and comfortable to stay for a vacation. The neighborhood is quiet and very friendly. Gwynns has a reach history. Private beaches (no public beach line), a quiet bay life. Mathews town is a quick drive. Few restaurants that work few days a week, Several little cute stores -art, clothes, antiques, A Food Lion. A library, Mathews and the county -small and charming. No much development. A perfect beach vacation. Good communications with owners.

Cozy cottage life

Lovely stay in a spotless and thoughtful cottage. Extra touches, like wireless chargers, added to the ease of settling in. Hosts were excellent. Note to future renters: bring plenty of your own towels for beach use, like 3 per person! No washer/dryer/ice maker, mid-stay trash service, or dishwasher, so the daily activities need a bit more work. Love, love the little beach area!

Cottage on the Island.

We have enjoyed 2 stays at the cottage. It is a wonderful location and the owners have been great and are very thoughtful. The beach is perfect, and we love the neighborhood. We can't wait to visit again!

Perfect stay

This beach cottage had absolutely every little touch to make our stay comfortable. The decorations are cute, but tasteful, and I especially appreciated the library of available books. The private beach is ideal for a peaceful vacation, and the backyard with dock gave us a fascinating view of the crabs and other local wildlife. The owners were very communicative and responsive to every need and even left treats for our dogs. It is just a wonderful place!

Beautiful, relaxing getaway!

We absolutely LOVED this place! The house was cozy and welcoming, and the sunroom was a favorite spot to put on a record and curl up in the recliner and read, with a pretty view of the beach. The private beach was a perfect swimming spot, and we also went antiquing in nearby surrounding areas. This is such a peaceful and beautiful gem away from all of the traffic of the more "touristy" areas. We hope to come back next year!
