Nice hotel at good location

It was a nice experience to stay in this hotel only lift is a drawback as it’s a mixed building have to wait for lift rest all good .

Superb location but in need to renovate.

Great location right above the mall and metro station. Plenty of restaurants around and a supermarket at the basement. Beautiful city view as rooms are from 26 floor onwards. However, room is really old and wallpaper is peeling. Bed is super hard and bathtub has cracks. Carpets has plenty of suspicious stains within 1 feet apart. Would recommend slippers at all times.

Run down but convenient location

The location is extremely convenient as the hotel is right on top of Gangding Metro station and connected to a shopping centre that has a supermarket and eating places. The downside is that it is a bit run down.

Majestic Hotel

The hotel is pretty tired really. It must have been really new and impressive in the 80's but a bit small & pokey now. There was an enduring smell in the room of old cigarette smoke and food, the table lamps didn't work and there were holes in the wall behind the bedhead where wiring had been redone then not covered over or fixed, it appeared. However the staff were very helpful and the location was good both next to the metro line and where my meetings were.

The room was so small I could hardly turn around. I requested another room and they said none was available although it certainly appeared it was not crowded. Most of the people at the desk could not speak English - communication was complicated. The buffet was not good- very few selections. To convert USD to RMB they charged a sizable fee. There was little noise insulation on either wall as the noise came very loud. I will not stay at this hotel again.

Hotel needs major redecoration. It is situated next to computer market in Tianhe. Cons : Aged bathrooms and rooms. The carpets are not is best of conditions and can be stained from room to room. Bathrooms overall are decent size and functional but dated with cracks around the tub which have been silicone to try and mask the age. Pros : Location, Price and Free shuttle bus operated during Canton Fair.

You get what you pay

Hotel needs redecoration but it is extremely well situated next to computer market in bustling Tianhe. Even though the hotel was not my primary choice - yet the price at this location was extremely compelling. My main disappointment was aged bathrooms and rooms. The carpets are not is best of conditions and can be stained from room to room. Bathrooms overall are decent size and functional but one wishes to have a better bathroom for a 4 star hotel and hence shows age. One added benefit is the free shuttle bus operated during Canton Fair.

THIS HOTEL IS MY HOME AWAY FROM HOME. I HAVE BEEN STAYING HERE SINCE 2007. CLOSE TO EVERYTHING. METRO IS NEXT DOOR. SHOPING MALL IS ATTACHED TO THE HOTEL. SERVICE IS EXCELLENT

Guangzhou's best value

This is the best value hotel I have stayed at in Guanghzhou. It is older, with bathrooms which need renewing and beds that are too hard (I forgot to request a soft bed at check-in) but EVERYTHING else is far better than you could expect for the price. The surrounding area is alive at night. The locals flock here so you know it is a good place to go! It is only a 20 minutes from the Guangzhou Fair ($10 by taxi) and not too far from the central city and the airport. The rooms are beautifully furnished and the buffet breakfast is OK (only $10 extra if your room rate does not include it). The WiFi is free all over the hotel and works fine. There were no hidden charges, absolutely nothing to pay over the price paid on the 'net. They took a $100 deposit on check-in and refunded the lot. I have stayed here four times now and I will be back.

Good location. No red flags. All around adequate.

Hotel is good value for money, and in an excellent location. Nothing truly stands out about the Majestic; but there are also no major flaws. It's solid and reliable choice for the business, conference, or casual traveler. I've stayed at three different hotels in Guangzhou. You can do better by paying more and staying elsewhere, but the Majestic is fair value for money.

Very noisy place. Hard bed, horrible breakfast. I asked if i could get scramble eggs and they said no. The fruit was just a few and always with sauce, i dont like sauce and many people either so why do they put sauce in the fruit? The eggs were really well cooked, so no choice eat it or be hungry. I would not stay there anymore.

Trouble with Check-In

They couldn't find our reservation with the confirmation number we got from Hotels.com. They also kept on insisting they had no deals with Hotels.com any more. We made call ourselves to the hotline and asked them to send the confirmation again to the hotel. But still, no reservation email in their email box. We got stuck at the lobby for about an hour. Suddenly the manager made another call and figured out Hotels.com actually sold our deal to Expedia and whose agency in Guangzhou hadn't sent our information to the hotel by the time we arrived. Finally we checked-in. So if you had similar trouble with them, do let them check with Expedia for the confirmation number as well.

When I arrived, hotel front desk workers refused to provide me a room telling that there was no reservation on my name despite the printed proof of reservations and payments I showed them. They claimed that they had never heard about hotel.com reservation service and that their hotel did not cooperate with that service. He did not want to make any phone call to find out anything. I had to spend about 2 hours (!) to get Chinese SIM card and spent about 50$ on international phone call with hotel.com customer support. Finally they announced that the reservation "had just been sent to them" and still insisted that there was no reservation before. Nobody helped us with luggage and elevators. The breakfast should be available at 7am, but only at 7:30 they bring coffee, tea and juices. On the third day I had to ask for a soap because they did not provide it on previous days. The only good thing about this hotel is its location.
