We had a nice stay at Castillo de Santa Cecilia, the place views are nice, our room was comfortable, don’t expect luxury it’s an old building, but good to get some rest! The halls needed attention for the cleaning aspect. We enjoyed our stay!

DO NOT STAY HERE! - ¡NO SE QUEDEN AQUÍ! We made our reservation for 2-nights thinking we were giving our son a one in a life time experience, staying in a “castle”. When we arrived and received our rooms they were in very poor conditions and seemed to need dusting. We tolerated that, but then in the afternoon when my husband tried to shower there was NO hot water. My husband went to reception to try and get the issue resolved and discovered that the only person working was the receptionist. She informed us that the owner and the maintenance person who could turn the hot water on were at a town party and was unsure when they would return. She “upgraded” our rooms, which were still questionable. But the maintenance person was still a no show. When my husband went to speak to the receptionist again he overheard another customer complain about being without hot water for 2 days. At that point we decided to leave and look for another place to stay. Also, my confirmation charge was $211.68 and the hotel tried charging $333! I disputed the charge with my card company! Please be careful when booking here!

The room was beyond neglected! Furniture was not only outdated but broken. If you like rustic furniture and tube televisions then is your thing. The door’s latch didn’t even work properly. The place is okey, good for a few pics, but you can tell it needs some good maintenance. The ceilings in the bathroom were moldy. I didn’t even stayed there, went for a different hotel.

I booked 2 nights, I left a night early. The castle was something I was looking forward to but it was a complete disappointment. The room layout was great, the outside property for photos was nice. The room itself was not clean, dusty and only one toilet worked. Saw some dead cockroaches. I traveled far so I was tired to leave at the moment. When it was bedtime both bed covers were covered in blood stains. At the point I couldn’t stay there. I left without even bothering with the front desk. I was so upset. Bathroom drain cover, tiles are all falling apart. The couches and chairs are all extremely dirty. If you want the photos of the castle visit during the day no need to stay. I learned my lesson you get what you paid for.

The whole experience was terrible. Had we not arrived so late after a long journey and with a toddler, we would have found more suitable accommodations. Getting to our rooms was a nightmare. We were a group of 4 adults and 1 toddler and we were given rooms across the property from each other. We were given horrible directions to the rooms themselves which were very far from the reception desk-- ultimately the front desk attendant had to personally walk us to the room because it was so far and complicated to get to. The rooms themselves were horrific. Immediately upon entering, I noticed large insects on the ground, massive flying wasp-like beetles and dead flies on the floor and near the windows. The bathroom floor was completely wet because the toilet was leaking. The floorboards were coming apart to the point that if you didn't pay attention, the raised faux wood panels could cut your toes off. The bathroom was riddled with mold and revolting sewage smells emanated from the drain in the sink to the point I didn't want to use the water to even wash my hands. I used bottled water I had brought with us to brush my teeth. The room was hot upon arrival but at least they had a loud but working AC unit in the room. The room door lock was wobbly which didn't make me feel safe especially considering how far the room was. The property could be better lit especially considering how remote the rooms are in this "castle"-inspired property. The pool was gross so don't count on that.
