Villas on the hill

Location: The scuba diving is very good. Also, don't miss the water tour of the west coast together with the mud bath in the volcano.
Windjammer has a rather unique set up. It is comprised of a number of villas built into the hillside. Some are occupied by people on a time share arrangement, who have purchased one or two weeks per year for decades. Others are rented on a weekly basis. The villas are nice and roomy and contain fully functional kitchens. The decks and views are superior. We had a wonderful time at the resort, but note a few drawbacks. First, the hill is steep. The resort runs a steady shuttle service up to the villas for those who want it. We chose to walk. Regardless, once you get to the beach, it is a bit of a chore to go back to your villa to get something. The resort is currently building new villas right behind the beach. They are roomy and quite nice. They also eliminate the hill issue. Second, there only a few restaurant choices for each meal (one for breakfast). So, after a few days, on site dining gets a bit repetitive. That said, the food in the restaurants is very good. They also serve nightly specials. Regulars cook in their villas a few days per week or grab a cab and eat in the nearby town. Third, many of the villas have their own pools. The community pools are somewhat limited in size. There are no pool bars per se, but there is a bar very near the main pool. The beach is nice and the staff was excellent, without exception. New drink concoctions, changes to meals on the menu, etc. Nothing was a problem. Not a wild resort, but overall our family had fun

Awsome Resort

Pros: Loved the friendly, knowledgeable staff. Never came in contact with someone who wasn't helpful and friendly. The property is well maintained.
Cons: I wish the hills were not so hard on my knees. Thank goodness for the prompt all day shuttle service and the friendly drivers.
Location: We took an all day Catamaran sail to Soufriere and the Pitons from the resort which was relaxing and fun. Also, did a rain forest tour. :)
Had a great time. Fantastic views from every room. Plenty of people, but spread out so it was not to crowded. Our room was more than we expected - 3 levels - lower level master bedroom with a flat panel TV, washer/dryer combo, outdoor balcony with seating and a master bath to die for; main level had a living room, flat panel TV, kitchen, full bath, covered balcony with table and seating; top level is an open patio area with lounge chairs and shower area. Views from all levels were gorgeous. WiFi and cell reception (with International Calling Plan) worked well there too. I highly recommend using the Inclusive Plan. We never had to carry money on us and never worried about going over a budget. All water equipment was included with the Inclusive Plan - snorkeling equipment, sailboat use, windsurfing, paddle boarding, kayaking, etc. were all covered. Reduces the stress and lets you forget about the details. :) We charged our excursions and resort purchases to the credit card we had on file which meant we didn't need to carry money with us.

Awesome honeymoon!!

We had an amazing time! Very helpful staff and food is great. Water sports were also lots of fun. The Upper Deck food is phenomenal, get the surf n turf :-p A downside is the cats. There are strays that peruse the resort restaurants and sit at the feet of guests. A huge turn off for my husband and I as we are NOT cat people. Don't waist your time going to the Rodney Bay Mall it's nothing there but a ton of knock offs.

Unique & Gorgeous

My wife and I spent two weeks at Windjammer - it was the most relaxing, friendly, and beautiful resort ever! The villas are built into the hillside and give outstanding views of the Carribean. The staff are all sincerely friendly and professional at the same time.

If you're looking for tropical, unique, fantstic and paradise, this is the place.

Pros: Close restaurants, Free Internet, Quiet
I was so thrilled I chose this hotel. The Villas on on hills over looking the sea. The views are fantastic. I enjoyed the walk every morning from our room to the cafe on the beach. Singing tropical birds, warm humid breezes...so calm peaceful and relaxing. Island music played throughout the lobby which was comfortable to just hang out. My personal embassador made sure were enjoyed our stay by arranging the activities we choose. Remember to go snorkeling everyday, its so fun because you get a tour of other side of mountain. The water is clear, we say lots of fish. We're going to St Lucia again next year. I highly recommend WINDJAMMER!
