The renovations on the property was extravagant.. the staff all around was exceptional especially our server on the beach his name is Stanley, OMG , he was super sweet.. Overall the resort was amazing. The general mgr was suppose to arrange dinner for us outside the resort. He decided to go home instead and never arranged the dinner. The other staff went above and beyond and arranged dinner reservations. I would definitely go back but I would spend extra money and get an ocean view. You only live once.

It’s a GORGEOUS resort. Built into the side of a mountain, so if you can’t walk up/down steep inclines this is not the resort for you. The all inclusive price is crazy expensive. You really need to be drinking a lot to get your money’s worth and/or eating at the steakhouse every night (which is excellent) esp bc bfast is all you can eat for all. The service in some of the other restaurants needs to be improved. Ordering lunch from the beach—also an area for improvement (a couple days it took us 1.5-2 hours to receive our food (which makes it really hard to take advantage of the all inclusive food). We never got wash cloths in our room; no fresh towels one day, no shower mat a few days. Room light started flashing so I kept it on do maid would see it needed to be fixed—it wasn’t. One day our door was left a jar! Our kids had a roll out in their room— never got blankets for it. Their phone didn’t work. This was after they had to be moved twice. Charging the room is on the honor system (as are many resorts) and there were over $600 of someone else’s charges on our room. I called resort day before arrival to ask about shuttle from airport (it’s a 1.5 hr drive to resort). They confirmed they had one and set it all up for us. But forgot to tell us it cost $125 for 4 people each way. We were there for NYE. The entertainment, food and fireworks were TOP NOTCH! This was a great experience and our teens had an amazing time but if you’re on a budget, look elsewhere.

I would not recommend this hotel, especially for the price. It is certainly not 4 stars. There is a general disorganization and lack of communication from management. We had a long wait when we arrived for our room. Then despite requesting it a week before the trip there was no crib in our room. After requesting it again at 5pm it was still not there when we returned from dinner. At 8pm we finally got the toddler to sleep in our one bed. At 9:30pm housekeeping knocked with towels, still no crib. 10pm they knocked again with towels we didn't need. At 10:40pm the crib finally arrived. Totally unacceptable. Rooms in general were not clean, floors were sandy on arrival, we never got fresh hand or face towels replenished. Only got cold water to drink in our room a few nights. The room in general was just very old and dirty, not maintained. The beach and main part of the hotel was very nice and we enjoyed days at the beach. Food was also great and 4 stars, but trying to make reservations was hard, wish I knew to make them before we arrived.

A very nice property, far from the airport- at least an hour and a half. Villa, we stayed in, had a huge balcony and spectacular view, no private pool. Plenty of dining options- food is delicious! We did whale watching tour booked through the hotel, would definitely recommend. A nice stay overall.

Lovely hotel. Whilst it is on a hill there is a shuttle service that will do pick ups and drop offs. Eating and drinking in the hotel are expensive. We thought we had taken an all inclusive package with Expedia but on arrival in transpired we had not. Be careful with this at the resort whilst very nice is expensive. Expedia customer online customer service told me they didn’t offer all inclusive at the hotel, which is on their website!

The staff was the highlight of this property. They were always accommodating and even upgraded our stay halfway through. Marcus, who works at the front, was awesome and always said hello and took time to greet my wife and I. Overall, we had a great experience at windjammer.

I really liked the private villa feeling, very private, large balcony, and a unique landscape. Very green! The villa was pretty spacious - leaving room, kitchen, and separate bedroom. Needs some renovation for 5 star resort but overall, very nice. The beach is pretty crowded with kids. If you like snorkeling, thi is not a bad spot. The staff are very nice, they take your requests very seriously, especially the manager of operations. Big THANKS to him for reserving the cabana for the whole stay.

Food & staff are the stars of your holiday here. You need to be fit to walk the hills to most rooms, or patient to wait for a shuttle, (if you have a room phone available, took us 3 days to final get one). A new restaurant is being built, so some noise, but doing a good job of keeping that to a minimum. Also what looks like new apartments on the front. They could do with updating some of the original older rooms; ours had a leaking gutter outside the front door, so rain water regularly welcomed us on entry and a leak off the beam in the dressing room the shower room really needs upgrading. The roof terrace and bedroom though were fab. Beach was lovely, with additional sand clearly added occasionally, seaweed cleared daily and brilliant water sports facilities. Beach service was excellent, especially once you get your beds booked and kept for your stay; tip here, the coconut leaf umbrella beds are more rainproof. In the sea, they have cleared a swim area of rocks and put in various float options; the other areas are rocky and a warning sign says sea urchins are possible. Bizarrely there are 4 concrete pillars that are not obvious you can swim into, that presumably use to be used for more hammocks. There are coral bits on the beach, but the snorkelling off the beach is not good; a few fish but makes you wonder if it’s possible to install a new manmade coral reef to improve the environmental damage caused. Gym & tennis courts all v useable. Fab stay.

NEVER STAY AGAIN The service was very poor. Had to remind the same thing multiple times to get the things done. The money was stolen from the safe multiple times and from 2 different safe, in small amounts which could have gone unnoticed if we were not careful. Management did nothing to compensate or show us the proof that it was not their staff, inspite of asking for the report.
