Grand Marais, is a beautiful lakeside town with amazing views of Lake Superior, great local shops, and relaxing small-town charm. Artists Point is a must-visit, and the nearby hiking trails are excellent. Bring layers because the weather changes quickly near the lake. Perfect spot for a peaceful weekend getaway.

The host was helpful and always quick to respond to any questions I had. We were a bit surprised by the number of steps we had to navigate up to the living space. There is no AC here, and normally there would be no need for it, but it was unusually warm weather. Additionally, Grand Marais is currently experiencing an infestation of spruce budworm moths. Because the screens did not fit snuggly in the windows we had to choose between a cool breeze or bugs. A bit of a perfect storm, with unusual weather and an unusual infestation of moths. I’m sure it would have been more comfortable at any other time. The location is ideal, walking distance from everything.

Great in Town Location

Came up for 4 nights with my family to hike and enjoy the town. Place was great for us and loft was really helpful for having an extra bed. No AC needed with how close to the lake it was, but one window was missing a screen, so lots of mosquitoes got in before we noticed. We use this place again.

The space was great for my family and the location was excellent. We had enough space to prep lunches and eat breakfast. There was plenty of sleeping space for my family of five. The location is just blocks away from the harbor and my three-year-old handled it well.I have a little feedback to make the stay more enjoyable. 1) Have hand soap (and body wash). - Both pumps were empty. 2) Have a wash rag and drying towel in the kitchen. - The sponge in there smelled so bad, I threw it in the corner. Other than that, the tub drained a little slow.

Great stay and loved the location!

We had a bit of trouble finding the location but only because we didn’t have phone service when we got to Grand Marais. The host gave well written directions with the check in information but apparently I am challenged with following directions. We figured it out and Ben was quick to respond to our distress - we just had spotty cell connection and didn’t see his texts. The apartment was clean and comfortable, the description and photos were accurate, the beds were comfortable and the place had a very peaceful feeling to it. We all slept so peacefully! I would recommend this stay to anyone wanting to be close to town. 10/10 stay for us!
