Our room and the property were clean and quiet. Check-in went smoothly and any issues we had were handled promptly and courteously.. There was a nice continental breakfast and coffee/tea available all day as well as a coffee pot in the room. No microwave, but a refrigerator was in the room. The only drawback for us was the stairs, only because we are older and not quite as agile as we once were. Being within walking distance of shops and restaurants was a big benefit and being able to open our window and hear the lake was great. Oh- for those of us who find TVs smarter than us, finding the Sunday night football game was a struggle. TV instructions would be helpful as there are no “regular” channels but many, many apps that might or might not have what you are looking for.

The air didn't cool the room. No TV! Front desk person was sneezing all over the desk, no smile, unfriendly, obviously there only for a paycheck. Cost WAY to much for that hotel in that area. Awful experience.

Good old hotel

Place is clean but could use some repairs. Noticed tiles falling off the wall in the lobby/kitchen area. Room was clean. Bathroom fan was super load. hope it did not annoy the neighbors. Bathroom sink was cracked. Towel rack in bathroom fall off the wall. it was not installed properly. They could update the 80's furniture in the room. Needs outlets for phone chargers by nightstand. Continental breakfast leaves a lot to be desired. Overall it was a good place to stay.

Not the best.

The hotel was very dated. The furniture and curtains in our room and in the seating area of the lobby were very old and tattered. The carpets had stains all over them. The bathroom and jetted tub were very clean. What we paid for one night in this room we can get 2 nights at a hotel in the twin cities.

Clean, spacious room with a nice view. NO ELEVATOR!!! Room needs some repairs…ceiling is falling apart, the a/c is very loud and can’t be run all day per their request. Had 2 blinking lights in our room from detectors, towel rack fell apart, wall outlet covers falling off. Unwelcoming person at check in and check out

We requested a new room because the room we were put in was dirty and was not cleaned properly. The manager was very rude when we requested a new room. The front desk worker was also very rude. Very poorly managed property . Would not recommend this property to stay at.

The main considerations for me when staying at a hotel are that it is clean and quiet. Aspen Inn checked both of those boxes and toss in an incredible view of Lake Superior and you have an awesome play to stay. I was very happy with the stay and the room, as it was clean and spacious.

First room took 2 hands to turn on bathroom faucet while twisting it. Put in another room and faucet was backwards for hot and cold water. Toilet didn't flush properly and baseboards falling off and countless other damaged items. Wouldn't stay there again.

We only stayed one night in Grand Maris. The room was clean, but dated. It served its purpose. Grand Maris is an entranceway to a lot of nature, hunting, fishing, etc. The town itself is okay.
