Lula's Lookout, by Mountain Vacation Lodging, is a nicely updated and cozy condo perched on the hill above downtown Grand Lake. Here you can enjoy panoramic views and good quality furniture, finishes, and decor. This is a pet friendly property, with advance approval. Please read on for more detailed information.
The Property: This pet friendly condo has a prime vantage point for the fireworks displays that occur during certain nights in the summer, but any time of year is a good time to enjoy these views! They are simply breathtaking. Look to the North and Northeast, and you'll see peaks within Rocky Mountain National Park. To the East, views stretch across downtown Grand Lake and feature a direct view of “Mount Baldy” looming above Grand Lake itself. Looking to the Southeast and South, you'll see Shadow Mountain and Shadow Mountain Lake.
The condo has a consistently good quality throughout. The living room is a great place to relax, with leather furniture, maple hardwood floors, a large HDTV and wood burning fireplace. Off the living room you have a good size covered deck. Lounging furniture and elevated armchairs make this a great place to take in your surroundings. You'll find granite countertops in the bathrooms and fully equipped kitchen. The decor is very tastefully done, western and outdoorsy, but not too much so. Bedroom 1 features a log framed Queen bed, views of the mountains and lakes, a ceiling fan, an HDTV, and an ensuite half bathroom. Bedroom 2 has a Queen over Queen bunk bed, making this bedroom perfectly suited for couples, singles, kids, or a mix. The full bathroom is off the hall, convenient to both bedrooms as well as the main living space. It is a split bathroom, which allows one person to use the vanity area while another person uses the toilet, shower, or bathtub - convenient and functional.
Location: The best thing about this location is the views. Here, you're within the town of Grand Lake, but not right in the heart of downtown, and that's a good thing. You'll have fast, easy access into the very quaint and charming downtown area, but without having the constant hum of activity, pedestrians, or vehicles. The border and entrance to Rocky Mountain National Park is less than a mile away. The area's many parks, lakes, beaches, rivers, trailheads and trail systems surround you. From here you can choose your adventure, get there quickly, or just sit back, relax, and enjoy those views.
Arrival, Accessibility, and Parking: Once you book, we're here to support you. We will provide you with arrival instructions, and answer any specific questions you might have. Accessing this property does require going down one flight of about 12 stairs from the parking area. The parking is an outdoor lot and the condo comes with one reserved space directly in front of the condo. There are unreserved “visitor” spaces throughout the development which are available on a first come first served basis. Trailers are allowed, as there are two large lots just for them - bring your boat if you have one! Campers/RVs are not allowed, if they will be occupied.
4WD vehicle information: The roads in Grand Lake which lead to and from this property are generally easy to navigate and well maintained. However, please note that your route to the area may include a mountain pass, and the condos are located at the crest of a hill. When traveling during snow and winter weather conditions, 4 Wheel Drive or All Wheel Drive and tires with good tread are recommended.
