Grand Hotel Bristol Spa Resort - by R Collection Hotels
"Arrived late. Good welcome and reception. Dinner at end of service so perhaps a little rushed was understandable. Found food to be high on presentation less good on quality. Felt this theme ran through other elements. Clearly trying to portray a brand but perhaps letting a more natural hospitality flow through would be better. Overall though very good hotel and pretty much does what it says. Location good. But if you want to go to Portofino look for the Ferry. Asked Concierge the best way and he suggested water taxi at 400 euro round trip. The ferry he didn't mention is 22 euro. I know the experience of the taxi may have been higher but he should have mentioned all options. Shuttle on demand to town is great but we only found out by chance. As I say it is OK to portray the exclusive brands but let the natural Italian great hospitality flow."
