Nice for a night in transit. You live and learn.
We were allowed to check in an hour early which was nice. Went straight to the pool but couldn’t find a spot to put our things down - let alone a single chair / lounge etc. had to hide our belongings in a garden bed (along with everyone else). Our suite had a “panoramic” view of the construction site where the new Star hotel is being built, and the top of pacific fair car park. No mention of the construction on the site or prior to booking. Upside is my son may have a career path in construction now as that’s all he was able to see out the windows and balcony and he seems interested in that now as a result. Silver lining I guess. Confused by the 200 deposit as there was no mini bar (well there was one but had nothing in it - including not a single water bottle in the room), and the selection of 5 “new releases” including Barbie was hardly a reason to stay in the room for. Room was quiet during the day and could hardly hear the drilling and pounding from the construction site so that was good. The beds are comfortable enough to sleep on for a few hours but average enough to let your back know that if you try for a sleep in, you’re booking yourself in for a massage down the road when you leave the room. Pillows also had a lot to be wished for. Memory pillows are just not the way to go. At least have a couple of types. Maybe they were getting used at the better looking sister - The Darling. Will be staying back there from now on. The Dorsett has a lot of catching up to do.
