The Whistler Fairmont resort is good, but the check-in process slow - where my reservation was missing and took a while to find. In addition, there were robes and slippers missing from the robe which made it awkward to walk to use the amenties. But other than that, good fun at the lobby and restaurants here.

I’ve stayed at the Fairmont Chateau Whistler multiple times, and the experience has consistently declined. This trip was particularly frustrating and a complete waste of my time. Check-in was 40 minutes late, setting the tone for the stay. My original room had a broken TV, and I wasn’t upgraded until the following day—meaning I spent an entire night dealing with the issue. When I finally received the upgrade, the new room also had a broken TV, and maintenance couldn’t resolve the problem until Monday, long after my stay. The upgraded room also lacked basic amenities like coffee and robes, and there was dust on the tables—what exactly are the staff doing? Service was a nightmare. It took 90 minutes to have a single plate delivered to my room. Despite requesting the sofa bed to be made up, it wasn’t done the first time, requiring another follow-up. I was offered a free meal as compensation, but it was subpar—hardly making up for the frustration. To compensate, they also offered me a free room for a future stay, but since I booked through Expedia, I wasn’t able to receive any actual money back. Frankly, after three bad stays in a row, I’m not sure I even want to come back, so the free room is of little value to me. In total, I wasted over six hours dealing with these issues—at my billing rate of $400 an hour, that’s a significant loss of time and money that no one is reimbursing me for. An “upgraded experience” should not create more stress on vacation, especially at $1,000

Excellent in all aspects

Great place and your best choice for Blackcomb Cullage. Rooms are much nicer than the Westin (in nearvy Whistler Village). For a combination or quality and location in W Village, Pan Pacific may be most ideal.

Our stay at Fairmont Château Whistler was good but didn’t meet expectations for a luxury resort at this price point. The location and facilities were beautiful, and the ski valet service was excellent, but service details fell short. Check-in was delayed past 4 PM due to a room issue, though they offered a C$100 credit. Housekeeping was inconsistent—we had to request toilet paper twice, and towels were never removed, only added, making our space feel cluttered. The mini-bar was never restocked, and there were no clear instructions on how to request refills. Valet parking was underwhelming; our car wasn’t brought up or running when we picked it up, and we had to find an attendant ourselves. Dining at The Grill Room and The Wildflower was decent but not special, and their setup made it unclear which was which. The lobby bar was the highlight. Communication was impersonal—texting was the best way to reach staff, but in-room phones were confusing. Compared to similar resorts like The Grand Wailea in Maui, Fairmont lacked attention to detail. We loved Whistler but wouldn’t return to this property unless service improved.

I love the property but is a little annoying that the check in is at 4:00 pm. were most hotels is at 1:00 pm latest. Is good to consider that if you are going to arrive early.

Great place. Just don’t go on a weekend. Kids!!!!

The hotel has some amazing charm and looks and feels like a classic ski resort. However, the pool area and spa area is a circus. No joke, the hot tubs was totality full. The kid friendly tub has 14 kids along with the adults. The adult ones was just as full. I think we had 27 people in our. In short, you are going to touch people. The pools are just as crazy. This was between 4-6 pm. Ow, barrel saunas was a constant in and out and never got hot. The hotel is great but don’t expect that perfect IG moments.
